I have no background on Kuru, so this is kind ofa first impression album
I can live w that - Beats cool, not the most impressive thing I've ever heard. Definetly like his flow on this though. Wish he had a bit more vocal presence and emotion in his vocals but thats more my personal preference. 8.3/10
U wld never do it - BIG TRIPLE T mentioned? His flowing icl. This is a fun beat I like it. Definetly might have to listen it over the next couple of weeks a couple times to see. ... read more
idk its really mixed I have nothing much to say other than that.
Gonna preface this to say that I'm geneuinely mainstream brain washed and I lowk don't like slayr cuz his lowk fat and everything about his music from rage rap to electronic to asian styled music is dominated by skinny twinks so I lowk do have this subconscious animosity for him but I've been trying really hard to move past it cuz like I really fw this style heavy .
Anyway HalfBlood was amazing my own subconscious biases aside and I really liked the style. But I could definetly ... read more
Most of these songs are like my comfort songs so some of these ratings might just be higher than they probably should be.
Entry 1: Not much to say, I love the way Jaydes blends his voice in with the purposeful muffling.
Entry 2: During his evvls era, probably the least muffled in the album. I don't have much to say about this one though
Entry 3: Voices in my head again.
Entry 4: Maybe she likes me
Entry 5: Face in the pavement, look what you made me do
Entry 6: I'm getting bored ... read more
yeah bro idk i reloaded and my entire live reaction and shit got delted but like yea hidk just mid most tracks were 60-70 cant be bothered retyping everything and im probably not relisening much to this album so this will be the score for now
At this point this is a Trap essential, with how it's influenced rap and the underground this is a must listen. While the concepts in this generation are now officially much more common Whole Lotta Red is still unique even among the pile and piles of attempted copies. It's currently one of the best mixes of rage rap and the origin of trap as the rest of rage rap evolved into modern day underground production (think NettSpend or Che's recent album REST IN BA$$.) Since for all of ... read more
Yuno wtf happened to making the worst music out there (5 cuz it's my favourite number)
I love travis, and that's why this album didn't get a 5/100. To put clearly this is rating it as an album, if you expand and check how I've rated the songs I actually think they're all good as stand alone tracks however as an album that I set my alarm too and pretty much instantly started listening to the album experience was not great. I would never revisit it as an album ever again. While I don't feel like any of the tracks really miss and aren't close to missing ... read more
With Day After Day coming back to spotify I decided to write the review. This is Rich Amiri's album after he popped into the scene with 'Ghetto Fabulous.' This time he actually decided to return his old much more melodic style.
I really enjoyed the tracklist while most of the tracks are more just good this album is mostly boosted barely into the great tier by some absolutely amazing tracks like:
AMIRI TRENDSETTER:
- Love the beat and the OsamaSon adlibs in the background going ... read more
This is I believe his 5th studio album and especially compared to others artists in his generation he has pumped them out quite fast. While the flows are generic and his still using this catchy style that's carried him this far, it hasn't worn off on me yet.
Tecca definetly did a good job brining hype to the album and even releasing fan favourite unreleased tracks (OWA OWA.) that probably would've been scrapped otherwise. However the album to me feels questionable as an album. ... read more
On the edge of a great album however I think it's mainly limited to the fact that I'm not really into this style of rap. Normally I wouldn't review at all but I geneueinly found this album surprisingly enjoyable especially on relisten.
This is the second time Tyler has dropped an album on Monday and his done shockingly well. The production is incredibly well done and honestly much less stale than chromakopia.
I don't have much else to say other than that there were a ... read more
Ken doesn't do really well here, the beats aren't really all that compared to the rest of the wave of rage rap especially in the underground. It's listenable and sometimes if I'm in a "music for music" type of mood I'll actually enjoy some tracks. But it's horribly mid
There's no point in the album where there's any real track that I feel like really raging out too, and that's the entire appeal of the album.
This is the part where I ... read more
After reconsideration this is more an 85 just not my style of album anymore mainly just like metro spider and the travis tracks now.
Not as good as WLR at all that's way to much of an overrating but this is definetly one of the best stemming from the rage rap movement that has come from WLR. 1 miss and 1 song I don't really fw that much.
Probably one of the strongest productions this year but it's nothing that impressive to me anymore, the album itself doesn't really bring anything new to the genre. Che mixes between melodic, normal, ragey and "baby voice." The lyrics themselves aren't ... read more
Starts strong slowly falls off and comes back at frank ocean (by far my favourite track on the album)
Not much to say other than this is where everyone thought Che was going to stay and that the flows were good.
Carti definetly took a high amount of Lil Wayne influence for this album, I wish it breathed more carti but it's still great and honestly every re listen I went from giving it an overall album experience of 60 all the way to now where it's an 80 sadly there's still a lot of tracks that don't go well and feel like nothing burgers in the tracklist however nothing really misses.
While I wouldn't promote AI in art I don't mind if he slightly used AI though it'd ... read more
Mostly weighed down by a tracklist that is to long, if he shortened the track list it would probably be a top tier album but theres to much songs that miss or kind of just feel like filler.
The tracklist isn't one that I go back to that much other than how u feel?, moment of silence. Otherwise I don't really feel this album that much. It isn't stimulating enough for my imagination and even when I take a sit down to try and understand a normal listeners prespective it ... read more
Tbh didn't no I fw lil tecca like that
Haven't really listened to the album in a while but it was an incredibly album and it definetly had some of the best transitions I had seen so far. It has still aged really well however I'm not really into this style of rap :) I mainly came back to this album because I dropped a review and didn't drop my rating.
Everytime Kanye came on the album immediately started falling apart all the talks on Nazism were just horrible and while some songs like Fuk sumn and Back to me were pretty good I wouldn't say this is a great album. I'm not giving this a proper rating because there is no real way to win when it comes to reviewing the newer Kanye albums.
wtf was I on when I originally wrote my review for franchise wtf anyways really good song, don't understand why anyone would need an acquired taste for it
