I love this album dearly. Maybe its the nostalgia-tinged closer 'Favourite' but it feels like this album has been with me for a long time. It harnesses some romance of the past to see the future, I think.

Even though each single so far has been stylistically different, the through-line uniting them is just how hard they hit sonically and thematically without ever feeling contrived or overblown. Super visceral, like something repressed is trying to break out. The music vid conveys this narratively and in general is very well done. LOVING IT!

I really did not expect such a mellow, subtle song to begin the rollout of such a massive album. To anyone intent on giving new Coldplay a go, give this one a few listens - the small details will grow on you such that the song as a whole feels complete. A single straight listen will leave the song feeling empty from my experience.
