Would be higher if not for Girls and Slow Ride

Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs
93

Edit 81 -> 93

So yeah idk what i was thinking when i first reviewed this. Some Rap Songs is a big switch up compared to IDLSIDGO, his sound is completely different and in my opinion it was the right decision. The sample heavy drumless instruments is what earl is known for, and while i do think LIVE LAUGH LOVE did this style better i still love this album with all of my soul

Whodini - Escape
61

Escape by whodini is the second oldest rap album to get greenscored, and tbh, it makes sense

So i had NO IDEA what rap sounded like before it takes a nation of million so to hear an electro rap album blew my mind. I think by far the worst song is the outro track but the album is just passable to me. Its definitely very influential tho, i get the hype for it, but its just...ok

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
96

After multiple relistens, i can say with full confidence, this isnt tribes best album. While it still is amazing and shows the potential they had with the production and bars, i would say sometimes its just not as good as their later work. I still love it and think its a must listen!

Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
77

I really disliked the writing on this i cant lie 😭 but his rapping is great and the production is very varied and fun which ptty much makes up for the mysoginistic lyrics 😭

Devon Hendryx - JOECHILLWORLD
91

[CLOUD RAP ESSENTIALS 7/50]
So after listening to the not so good 6 Kiss i remembered i listened to this album earlier today and forgot to rate it 😭
Anyways its super interesting, peggy has great production and rapping on the entire thing, its great idk what to say

Guru - Jazzmatazz Volume 1
98

Wow

The Gang Starr half Guru debuts with one of the most insteresting Jazz Rap albums ever, delievering some of the most fun, jazzy and incredible production of the 90's. Its truly astonishing how guru was able produce so well in the early 90's, and thats not taking anything from his incredible rapping, deliever, and flow. R.I.P Legend

[CLOUD RAP ESSENTIALS 6/50]
Yeah uh this...was pretty mid
I hate the fact this album is 1 hour and 27 minutes long, the production is probably one of the weakest ive heard from the genre and its just...not as good
You gotta give it props for being pretty much the album to put cloud rap at mainstream tho, so thank you BasedGod

Cities Aviv - BLACK PLEASURE
99

[CLOUD RAP ESSENTIALS, 5/50]
*Listens to LIVELOVEA$AP*
Cloud Rap doesnt get much better right?
*Listens to Sonic The Hamilton*
Cloud Rap doesnt get better right?
*Listens to BLACK PLEASURE 2012*

Oh uh...yea, id say this was the best album on the challenge so far, even if i loved Sonic The Hamilton, this one has the higher highs. This is one of my favorite albums of the decade on first listen, the production is fucking insane, even if i think the first couple tracks are slightly weaker

Charles Hamilton - Sonic the Hamilton
97

Cloud Rap Essentials 4/50 - Charles Hamilton's "Sonic the Hamilton"

WHAT THE FUCK

This album is a damn masterpiece. Charles Hamilton is a great producer and sampler, i fucking loved this album front to back, super underrated mixtape i genuinely think this might be a 10

Westside Gunn - Hitler Wears Hermes 6
99

OK WOW
I really wasnt expecting the album to be THIS good
By far the best hwh album and the best gunn album in general

A$AP Rocky - LIVE.LOVE.A$AP [Reissue]

Cloud Rap Essentials, 3/50

OOOO HOO HOO

While Pizza And Codeine and Freewave III were good they didnt capture that amazing feeling that makes me love cloud rap, this one did, and it REALLY DID

What is there to talk abt this record, amazing production, good rapping, great features, its just one of the greatest mixtapes oat

Westside Gunn - Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B
89

Yeah it was great, not the best rap album oat but still very good

LUCKI - Freewave 3
79

Cloud Rap Essentials, 2/50 (i will listen to 50 cloud rap essentials YES) (rec by macmillerglazer)

I think theres some great songs here tbh, i did enjoy most of this but thats about it, the production could be more layered and fun, overall still a great album!

Chris Travis - Pizza and Codeine
72

Pizza and codeine!!! Im a big cloud rap fan but i never rlly went out of my way to listen to many cloud rap albums, so i decided to do exactly that and listen to cloud rap essentials, such as pizza and codeine!
Tbh it was good, but long, REALLY long. While i enjoyed i definitely think theres better cloud rap outta there

EsDeeKid - Rebel
86

Very fun debut mixtape from the uk rapper

Yung Lean - Jonatan
100

Fart the singing is bad fart

Jonatan is possibly the best written album of the year, with some of the best production ever, i fucking love every single track here. I truthfully believe this is one of the greatest albums of all time. People apparently dislike his singing on the album??????? I really dont get it. I think it works perfectly. I really dont have much to say, this record is beautifully crafted and a true piece of art

Strong 10

Im not saying its fine to joke around with stuff like that, but the thing is he doesnt believe that. Hes not really transphobic, he just made a transphobic joke, which he was called out on and proceeded to apologize. In my opinion i dont see why not forgive him Thats all i think"
