as promised, i'm checking out the original release of Node before the rerecording of it releases this week.
and, well, this is just aggressively okay metalcore. this is Northlane's first album with their current vocalist Marcus Bridge, and while he's a pretty average screamer on here, his singing performance is actually pretty good. as for the rest of the record, it's unfortunately held back by the really weak production. this has to be Will Putney's worst from what i know - the album just sounds hollow if not outright empty. it doesn't really hit as hard as it should for a metal record.
well, i'm hoping Node: Reloaded addresses these concerns of mine, and from the two singles they dropped for it, it just might
