πΊπΈ: The journey through 1995 has brought me some curious facts, and this is one of them. It’s very Jive Records, funny how there’s no actual relation. It already carries the early blueprint of the kind of sound the Backstreet Boys would perfect the following year. The album loses itself in being a little too messy to be commercially attractive, but it never really gets weak.

πΊπΈ: This is what I expected from a reunion between Taylor and Max nowadays. Catchy melodies, deeper lyricism without relying on constant Pop repetition. It's already a miracle to hear some vocal nuances since 2019. It’s a good album, with incredible replay value for FINALLY being short and edited. My biggest criticism is that the album has very little “life” or “showgirl” energy. “Opalite” would have been a more fitting name.

πΊπΈ: The album starts off strong, with George’s voice sounding incredible on the first two tracks. He keeps the rhythm and interest throughout the record, especially with the instrumentals and melodies, and for me he only stumbles a bit at the end. Still, it’s very hard to find anything mediocre in his discography. One of the greatest geniuses we’ve ever had in Pop music.

πΊπΈ: It’s an album of its time and not very different from the general Motown sound, but the brothers’ talent truly shines here. That shine isn’t limited only to Michael, who naturally stands out, but the record also gives space for everyone to try and claim their moment in the spotlight.
π§π·: É um álbum do seu tempo e não é muito diferente do som da Motown em geral, mas o talento dos irmãos realmente brilha aqui. Esse brilho ... read more
πΊπΈ: Gaby created an experimental Pop album, rooted in her Northern Brazilian heritage, in a way that’s both polished and exemplary. Not only do you come away understanding the type of sound, but the record also tells the story of the genre itself through its characteristic jargon and clichés. A true lesson in Brazilian identity and contemporary pop music.

πΊπΈ: Zara really does have good Pop songs. She may not have the strongest body of work and often lacks cohesion, but she seems proudly focused on not taking Pop too seriously and instead bringing dance sounds that recall the golden days of Pop.

πΊπΈ: The album follows the same dynamic as JLo’s previous ones: very strong singles and mediocre filler tracks. With the exception of two songs here, the album is extremely comfortable and basic within the Pop sound of the time. It can’t really be called bad, just predictable.

πΊπΈ: It’s a pretty standard album, and you can clearly see the influences of Madonna and Kylie in it, considering the sound of the time. Still, it’s quite fun, and I was surprised by Marta’s vocals. I only pressed play because of the cover that SCREAMS Pop Diva, but I ended up enjoying the material.

πΊπΈ: She still carries the album with The Voice, which, although clearly aged, is still strong enough to remain interesting. Jazz isn’t particularly my favorite genre, and that hinders my connection a bit, but it’s definitely a work worthy of being released.

πΊπΈ: It’s good to note that even though it’s repetitive, the songs rarely become boring—and that’s a great compliment. I still have doubts about the “authenticity” of his style, but even if it’s manufactured, who really cares? Everything sounds fresh, and Sombr is a solid performer given the proper proportions.

πΊπΈ: I could make the same criticisms that have been made about Ed over time: that his material is repetitive, uninspired, too safe, and rather opaque. And all of that is true. But it’s also a fact that he’s still good at digging up interesting melodies, even if everything feels like a big repeat of ten years ago. Worth the attempt, I suppose.

πΊπΈ: It’s not fair to call it a Debut given the many years of experience Jade has, but the artist’s first solo project is so deeply immersed in personality that we forget all the girlband years and become invested in what she presents at this moment. One of the best post-pop-band projects.

πΊπΈ: It’s a good album that maintains the artistry Sabrina showcased in her previous record, but without the same sparkle. Despite being fun, and still one of the best of the year, it comes across as more simplistic than it could have been, especially considering Carpenter is one of the most complete pop stars today.

πΊπΈ: The album is quite decent. He should have embraced his pop roots a long time ago. Far from being a great vocalist, the fact that we’re still talking about him means there’s something there that makes him “a pop star”. The production is much more interesting than the repetitive sound of his previous work, and the lyrics maintain pop simplicity. It’s a POP album from MGK: it won’t change lives, and the intention is simply to be fun.

πΊπΈ: The final album of Take That's first phase is not only their best-produced, but also their most mature. There are more interwoven vocals between the members and more harmonic experimentation. It's a great album, and it makes a lot of sense when looking ahead to the next phases of their career.

πΊπΈ: It feels like a Drag Queen album inspired by Erotica — but with genuinely great production. No wonder Peter is one of the top remixers of Pop diva anthems. For lovers of this style of sound, it's definitely worth it.

πΊπΈ: The album screams corporatism and bureaucratic safety. Just a pile of different songs trying to please every kind of character in a family — a fake versatility that doesn’t match Xuxa’s vocal performance, which only really works on Dance Pop tracks. πΊπΈ: We have to say that in terms of Pop production, it's very safe and timid. Sullivan is a great producer and works well with Xuxa's significant vocal limitations, but much of the material is quite repetitive and infantilized—just another "this year’s Xuxa album."

πΊπΈ: I've had a silent period since Alessia's debut—something I need to revisit—but there's still something in her voice that doesn't quite resonate with me.
