This project is really everything Testing could have been...

Combining elements of punk, alt-rock, and hip-hop Jean Dawnson shifts styles at a fast pace, but remains adaptable to many varying sounds throughout this entire project. Another thing this project and Jean Dawson both do excellently is ooze charisma leading to the artist's personality shining through.

One of my favorite moments on this project is the track Dummy which features these tweaks on some of the vocals that worm their way directly into my brain, while simultaneously Jean's more raspy and direct delivery pushes its way into center view. Then about halfway through you get these truly tingling highs. Another great moment is the more pop flavored track Bruiseboy which almost gives me these hints of Oliver Tree in the chorus. Mostly in some of the way words are enunciated, but this is not a negative by any means. Lastly, Pyrotechnics was a real nice finish to the album being this slow paced end of the world inspired track. I like the way the robotic voice comes in at the end and describes the end of the world being such a beautiful sight.

There are a lot of things done right on this project and anything that I didn't particularly gravitate towards couldn't ruin the great moments here. This is a project MGK could seriously consider taking some notes from as it does a similar blending of genres without sounding too disingenuous. Consider this project in a bit of a standard rotation as of recently for me.

Thanks to anyone who suggested I not only check out this project, but Jean Dawson in general. These would mostly be people catching my live streams ๐Ÿ‘€ and speaking of that there may be a link below to the stream where I first listened to this.
