It's Mitch Jones doing pop punk.

I am really glad for what music was able to do for Mitch Jones. That being said, that doesn't help ME enjoy this EP. I generally have a bias against pop punk music as in general as a genre it is really hard for me to find something I like. That aside, I went into this with an open mind and I will say it was better than I was expecting it could be to me.

Instrumentally, this EP is pretty damn clean with everything sounding mixed well and somewhat professionally produced (aside from the auto tune clipping on West Coast Tragedy). Worlds apart from what you would typically have to endure on a smaller artist first project. The songwriting is par the course for pop punk and therefore doesn't really offend me, although it is not my cup of tea. Where I think this EP really lacks is sadly just in the vocal delivery and performance. I don't think it would be a hot take to say Mitch Jones is not the best vocalist. He isn't terrible but has a lot to improve on. With that being said, that only leaves room for improvement.

I certainly don't intend to go out of my way to listen to more of Mitch's music but my curiosity got the better of me this time. Still better than MGK though!
