This is the perfect breakup story.
It is incredibly deep in his narrative, so intense and makes you empathize so much with Tyler that... God i lost my mind so many times on that album. It's so intense.
The first, raw and uninterested love, the EARFQUAKE; the good time that you pass with the other then finding out that this significant other loves another one; the craziness (in the center of the album, NEW MAGIC WAND) that brings the absurd desire to kill him, and then the "but at some point, you come back to your senses", the realization that you're a PUPPET, too attached to the other to live freely, that it's time to move on, leave that thing even if you won't be able to feel the same things ever again.
It's incredible. It has no skips and no lost moments. Tyler's pitched voice helps to transmit the feelings of desperation and the state of craziness that IGOR wants to transmit. The synths make the album genre-bounding and accessible.
I absolutely love IGOR. It has grown a lot on me since the first listen, and has become one of my 10's in the 2010's decade, along with
To Be Kind and To Pimp A Butterfly. It's so genre bounding and diverse from any other thing since forever that it could not be nominated in neither pop, hip hop nor R&B categories in the 2020 Grammy.
A BOY IS A GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNN
