no denying that m.i.a. was on this project, and frankly has always been, onto something. her music never fails to come through with some out-there ideas and a shit ton of attitude and has always remained highly appealing to people curtesy of the very bright, danceable production she always seems to choose.

here's the thing though, this project gets to you very quickly (not in the good way, rather in the way that the repetitive nature of it and the wild mixing and production can at points even start to feel like nails on a chalkboard). so i feel like if she's not at the top of her game, the track doesn't have a great message or the production is even a bit too rough, any track can be a non-starter.

however, this is a good album for sure, quite a lot of talent on display here and very good moments here and there. probably still my favorite album from her, which is a shame, cause i could've definitely seen myself becoming a huge fan if we were to get maybe a more polished album with the same amount of energy and passion.
