im currently working on a youtube video discussing this show, so ill save a lot of my thoughts for when thats released. but just know im not a fan. at all. and hopefully these scores reflect that
OH MY GOD BRUH how is this so crazy
i love caines vocals so much and the showtunes instrumental is so fun. i dont know what to say. wow
i am a MASSIVE murder drones fan. i was before i listened, and i am even more after. is the cyn rap part pretty bad? absolutely. do i care? no. i still enjoy this song to an unhealthily high degree, and i can guarantee im gonna be replaying it over and over. i'll just have to black out every time that second verse hits. i love that chorus, i love the instrumental, i love the music video, what else is there to love?
i took WAYYYY too long to get to this. my friend kept telling me to get around to this, and finally i did.
oh my god. theres a lot i could say about this, but im under a time crunch right now. ill just say that this album fixes my biggest issue with rage: arrangement. these songs feel like they move super well from all the different sections and how short all the songs are. they all flow together super well and never overstay their welcome. some insane beats here. great vocal performances. ... read more
this is one of my favorite songs ive ever gotten to work on. over a year trying to finalize this track led to me making a lot of changes in how i produce music overall. i used to get really nervous when collaborating with others, as i usually had a vision. and it would bother me a lot when others didnt share that vision and wanted to take it in another direction. it was unhealthy. working with veronica has really changed my perspective on that. their ideas, whether or not they conflicted with ... read more
quadeca is an artist that i respect deeply. he's probably the biggest factor to me expanding my music taste when i was younger. and while i do enjoy getting more material from him, i dont know how much this project really grabs my attention.
melisa is a pretty great song that i do wish was expanded upon a bit more. i did hear the vinyl version has more at one point, but i havent personally looked too deep into the vinyl cuts just yet. i will be replaying this song quite a bit, but i can ... read more
just from this album alone, nina became a massive inspiration for me in my future work.
before i go to far deep into this review, i wanna say thank you to anyone who checked out my project and gave some feedback. a lot of your responses have been very kind. and i appreciate anyone taking the time to give my silly little project some attention.
with that being said, what makes this album so impactful for me? first of all it cant be understated how much i love edm. it makes me feel something ... read more
from an artist that i didnt get into until recently, this is a great way to hook me.
a really nice folksy record with vocals that compliment the rest of the songs incredibly well. i love quicky quicklys lush and calming voice. it makes the entire thing feel like a trip in the woods. and yes, i would 100% take a trip in the woods with this album in my headphones. even the more minimalistic songs, like hero, this room, and take it from me, are so cozy. they make me feel at home. and i love ... read more
star is an album that i, unfortunately, did not connect with that much.
i listened to this right after revengeseekerz, and it was definitely a change i didnt really like that much. i find the minimalism in this project to be a lot more intrusive and destructive than some of his singles. (it was also the case on his previous album too). but unlike that album, i feel like its more apparent on here, and easier to talk about. a lot of these songs dont really feel like they get going by the end of ... read more
this is what music has been leading up to.
an incredible piece of art. this was my introduction to magdalena bay. and wow, what a great way to kick it off. the worst song on this album is in constant rotation for me, just like every other track. as it goes on, it just gets better and better. and then by the end, you realize that each song is a highlight in it of itself.
she looked like me is a really nice opener that sets up a motif used later in the album. and when those drums come in near ... read more
a really fun edm project that i listened to not long after it came out, but i didnt find much time to review it.
eliminate has shown himself to be quite talented in his field. and while he has a few missteps, such as songs like f_ck you or poison oak, he generally gets it right. personally, i think the 4 tracks are the album at its peak. incredible pacing and fun drops that can either be surprising (like the last drop on thinkaboutit) or the pitched down drop on smsou that hits like a truck. ... read more
this is my favorite 2hollis song. the lyrics are really cute, and while the beat is very simple, it works incredibly well. i love the little section where the crowd comes in, and 2hollis kinda sounds like his vocals are giving out in the autotune. its really nice. and the scream at the hardstyle section is just perfect. i would change nothing about this song
oh yeah i really like this song. one of the first 2hollis songs i ever heard and i think its a great start. his style feels very loud, but unlike an artist like jane remover, his style is somewhat minimalistic. and while that can be a deterrent sometimes (like on star, often) i think it works effectively here. and the hardstyle section at the end is so sick. it really makes the song feel worth listening to the entire way through really nice work
a song that i originally enjoyed a lot when i first heard it. but as time goes on, it slowly grows off of me more. i wish there was a bit more time put into the chorus (maybe some extra vocal layers?) and i think the section after just feels kinda empty. it doesn't add much to the song for me. i think it takes a bit too long for the song to pick back up for nate to save it. but he does well, and i like his inclusion. again, i just wish there was more
a single that i find to be kinda overlooked. i think 2hollis is a pretty hit or miss artist for me, and im not a big fan of his albums. but he can have some great singles. and i think style does that for me. it doesnt delve too deep into the edm or rage style that he typically does (and i find somewhat overdone from him) and as a result, feels a bit more unique of a single from him. i really like it! i think its catchy and fun
unfortunately, ghostholding has grown off of me since i first listened to it.
i initially preordered the vinyl to this album, expecting to love it. and yes, there are songs that i do love. however, theres so many that i forget that i can't help but feel a bit disappointed.
i think the album shines its best when jane has a nice melody they follow and the instrumental does something a bit more than what's to be expected. recoil and dead forever are great examples. theyre pretty loud ... read more
i actually quite like both of these songs. i definitely prefer lipstick 405 over bleed, but i find both of them to have appealing elements of them. i think bleed could've probably used a bit more work to make it stand out a bit more, but lipstick is super fun. i love all the different sections in it. really nice
QUADECA HOW U VANISH
