Happened to stumble upon this album on here and decided to check it out. Didn't have too high of expectations coming in, but this was genuinely great. Pissed it isn't on streaming platforms. Great atmosphere, and it flows phenomenally from track to track; the mix of more standard blackgaze ambience with more traditional instrumentation is done well and is really interesting. I believe Sleep Token found their sound in this EP. There is a lot more interesting stuff happening here than one. The production here takes another step up from One and is a constant that carries through to TPWBYT. Just like One, this EP has that alluring, somewhat spiritual vibe, but I think it's expanded on here.

There is nothing that I dislike about this EP, but it is very much formulaic, and the instrumental work isn't very interesting. I also think it was created to sort of show what their bread and butter (melodic vocals with heavy breakdowns/low-tuned-guitars, with a general atmospheric and creepy vibe) is to get signed to a label, which is fine, but it results in all the songs being similar. I like sports and music. I generally like most genres of music, but mainly listen to metal (plus metal adjacent genres) and rap nowadays. To explain my rating distribution: I don't listen to a lot of projects that I won't like, and I won't review something if I haven't listened to the whole thing in one go.
