Samia - Honey

Honestly surprised that this album has such low user scores but i kind of get it. The flow of this album has some songs clashing with each other really hard, but to Samia's credit she did say this was intentional. Personally the writing on this album is unmatched, even when compared to her most recent album 'Bloodless.'

Everything from the concepts of this album to the production are a massive step-up from Honey (still a really good album). I have this really minor gripe about some of the production on this album though. Some of the vocals on this album sound a bit too processed compared to her previous albums. Either way the writing makes up for it.

Oklou - choke enough

After the maximalist pop boom of last year, its quite refreshing to hear such a soft album. While not necessarily a 'pop' album, choke enough still has some songs that you can vaguely bop your head to. I dont think ive ever heard an album sound like it came from the medieval era and the future at the same time

Sidney Gish - No Dogs Allowed

One of the founding fathers of the twee indie pop explosion throughout 2017 - 2020.

There are so many albums ive listened to with much more lyrical and conceptual depth that i can easily explain with few words, but for some reason i find it hard to explain what makes this album hit so hard. No Dogs Allowed has many qualities one would consider as 'cringe' but somehow its charm makes it genuinely hard to hate on. Sidney has an ear for really catchy and infectious melodies that can get ... read more
