So bland that it’s offensive. A slick, de-sexualized, dispassionate House record that corporate sponsors can play at Pride to relate to the gays, and the community eats it up because we treat dance music as something we shouldn't expect any artistic merit from.
Poptimism to a fault - where music only serves as background noise, because who cares if it’s good or not as long as it “makes you move.” Who cares if it’s the musical equivalent of a Barbie doll, ... read more

Peak groovy stoner metal - the EP remains brief (less than 30 minutes) while still having the twists and turns expected in Elder's compositions. "Release" is the highlight here, but "Spires Burn" is still strong in its own right.
Good variation in riffs, and while the album is same-y you can at least differentiate most of the songs. I just wish there was some variation in the production and sounds used but it's fucking Bolt Thrower, they do one thing well and don't really mix it up much, and I respect that.
It's one of those slower-paced death metal records that has a great mood and just checks every box for me. If this was 35 minutes it'd probably be a 100 but for me it just goes on a bit longer than it needs to.
