Bella Poarch - Build a Bitch
54

I want to give it credit, as far as “influencer music” goes, this is on the better side of things. The production is reminiscent of something Melanie Martinez would make and the idea behind the lyrics sound like something that might be on an Ashnikko track. I think the vocals are alright. She does have a pretty nice voice but it doesn’t really have any distinct qualities.

My issues start with how it feels very derivative. As I mentioned the track feels eerily similar to a ... read more

Weezer - Van Weezer
53

Weezer’s attempt at glam rock is overwhelmingly okay. There are only really a few tracks that stick out to me in any way whatsoever. I like what Weezer were going for on this project but overall, Van Weezer is just decent. The production felt just a little too polished for my taste. And the lyricism is inoffensive but just feels very lifeless.

Hero is mediocre. I like the track sonically but the lyrics are just really cliche without a sense of self awareness which is the reason ... read more

Pierce The Veil - Collide with the Sky
94

I do not care to explain why I rated this album so high....

twenty one pilots - Choker
43

Damn, we getting a Regional At Best sequel?

Waterparks - You'd Be Paranoid Too (If Everyone Was Out to Get You)
57

This song is catchy, but that can only take it so far. And there’s something that doesn’t sit right with me about how almost every Waterparks song complains about having a fanbase.

Radiohead - Pablo Honey
82

I understand that artistically this album is nowhere as good as what would come in Radiohead’s discography but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a bad album. I think that this album is still very solid. The production is pretty impressive, the songwriting seems to be way more mature than people seem to give it credit for, and it’s kinda interesting to hear Thom Yorke sing in a grunge album considering what we’ve gotten used to from his usual vocals.

Kero Kero Bonito - Civilisation II
77

This short EP is full of really cute sounding pop tunes that tackle pretty worldly topics.

The Armed - ULTRAPOP
85

Um... This was the first album I’ve heard by the armed and based on the album cover and the title I assumed that it would be maybe like some kind of retro-pop record.... Boy was I wrong.

The Offspring - Let The Bad Times Roll
28

pop punk music for republicans.

Greta Van Fleet - The Battle at Garden's Gate
44

I get the appeal but this album just isn’t for me. The instrumentation is an incredibly tame take on bands who have done the sound better and in a more interesting way. The lyrics read like a post 9/11 cash grab at many points. And there was really no need for this album to be an entire hour long.

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
95

This is easily one of my favorite Radiohead records. It feels like Kid A with a more modernized production. I think the title “A Moon Shaped Pool” is very fitting because the lyrics on this LP are very reflective of mental health. The instrumentation always keeps the listener engaged due to the experimental production that we all have come to know and love from Radiohead. And there’s a soothing yet haunting quality on the vocal delivery from Thom Yorke.

J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive
84

This is just a nice feel good album. It’s production is really good and reminds me of something that would be on MBDTF, it’s flows are fairly inventive and refreshing, and it overall just sounds really nice.

Demi Lovato - Dancing With The Devil…The Art of Starting Over
57

I’m pleasantly surprised by this new Demi Lovato LP. I’ve never really been a fan of Demi Lovato, I never had anything against her but her music never stuck in my mind. This album is a rather intimate and personal experience. I think the last part of the album title that says “The Art Of Starting Over” makes complete sense because it seems that Demi wants to be taken as a serious artist now. But when it comes to production, this album doesn’t have a ton going for ... read more

Lil Nas X - MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)
89

Why can’t I stop listening to this? There is most definitely some kind of drug in this song.

BROCKHAMPTON - COUNT ON ME
50

I was expecting something a little more bombastic than this after the fantastic lead single, “Buzzcut” but it’s safe to say that I’m kinda disappointed. This track feels like the safest song they could make, which makes it way too tame for my taste.

Evanescence - The Bitter Truth
37

This is some of the most watered down rock music I’ve heard in a long time. The lyricism doesn’t do anything for me and the instrumentation is pretty run of the mill.

serpentwithfeet - DEACON
77

This is just a nice pop/R&B record. I like how open and honest it feels. The production is nice on the ears, and the vocals are pretty soothing.

AJR - OK ORCHESTRA
15

Wow, so quirkyyyy

All Time Low - Once in a Lifetime
50

I had high hopes going into this new track because I actually thought that their last album was pretty enjoyable but this song is just meh. It’s catchy and all but it’s also super forgettable.
