i love this. thought it wasn’t gonna be as mind blowing as thriller, and maybe it wasn’t (barely). what it was was more sonically interesting and experimental. truly wtf was speed demon????
love the imagery - and that voice! Perhacs is up there with arthur verocai as two would-be superstars robbed of the limelight.
i’ve never tried “psychedelic folk” so honestly i got a bit scared halfway through Parallelograms, but if this is in any way representative, i’ve been missing out BIG time.
Songs that touched me most:
Hey, Who Really Cares
Morning Colours
Delicious
Dolphin
not as good as SANDAS but still BURSTING with classics. the production feels more upbeat and… hopeful? than that of SANDAS, and i feel like that’s borne out in the lyrics - idk if songs like Sunny Days or Anime World would’ve been on there. Squidtastic kind of paints a picture of a Sahbabii who’s gassed by the success of SANDAS and wants to share that joy with us
as an aside, i wonder why he didn’t put watery on this???
literally never heard anything like him before where has this broer been all my life??
im dead sick of this current wave because how has everyone got a lane that they’ve mastered THIS EARLY in their careers????
anyhow this was a beautiful ode to 12,000 years of ghanaian history - the people demand more!!
Rai, Dabke, Bouyon, Zouk AND Rap? Whats actually wrong with this guy? Couldn't have conceived of this if you gave me 1000 years. This whole album is just different man. Outside the variety of influences, the production is so polished and atmospheric - you'd actually never know this guy didn't have some massive label behind him.
Grosse dedicace a Faycal Gump for putting me on c clairement du LOURD
