pleasantly surprised. zatru really knows how to switch up the production in an engaging way. sometimes he sounds like a dying whale. some of these tracks are so drenched in high end that it’s almost grating.

soooo good. super atmospheric and ethereal and huge-sounding on the production front. kray’s vocal presence is equivalent to that of a cheerleading crew; it has this tribal quality where he just repetitively belts out a mantra until he basically becomes another layer of the instrumental. all of that to say, he still manages to communicate so much emotion without explicitly saying much.
