Super pretty instrumentals on this album, most of the tracks run shorter which is an advantage in this case, some songs are super catchy. Laura Watling tells beautiful short stories during this album with her songwriting, and you can feel the essence she was going for. The simplicity does wonders for me and her voice is elegant.
Highlights - World Falls Into Place, The One For You, My Fondest Wish, Perfect Penmanship
Some pretty dark themes and moments of amazing writing to convey those themes. The highs on this album are fantastic, every window in alcatraz is 6 minutes of screamo perfection, and this albums songwriting peaks with purge. Some songs can feel bland or even a little too dragged on, however, which is why I refrain from giving it anything higher.
Highlights - every window in alcatraz..., purge
Pretty, psychedelic, and dreamy instrumentals throughout that help solidify the feel this album brings. While the first half starts out slower and the singing is more drawn out, the second half picks up and gives you excellent pockets of writing and timing.
Highlights - la pi ti ta, honeydew blue, frozen
