Might be a slight overreaction right now , but to me this is the best hip hop release this year, will have to relisten more times, but for now this is it, probably Vince’s best too.
Really strong effort from Malcolm , this was a real smooth listens, will definitely play this more times.
One of the strongest releases of the year , just a really good concise record exploring many genres of hip hop throughout its runtime.
Surprisingly really good , Kenny Mason really outdid himself here, there are some amazing tracks, this feels like something I’ll keep playing during the year for sure.
Yes! , Leven Kali saves the summer for now, very good project where all the tracks pretty much land, this will definitely be in rotation all summer.
Revisited Bad and well for the most part it reaches the giang heights of Thriller and Off The Wall, however there are some rather "good" tracks compared to the impressive rest, also during this re-listen I enjoyed "Another Part of Me" a lot more, making it probably my pick for most underrated MJ song during this era.
The only positive about Habibti is that it is marginally better than Maid of Honour and that it has a slightly decent song with Slap The City, but other than that it represents a huge void in creativity, not to mention the fact that in its second half it becomes boring as hell. So yes Drake went 1/3, with Iceman being the Mona Lisa compared to this garbage.
There are some that consider this abomination better than Iceman, that is just devious in my opinion, I grew to enjoy Iceman more, through many re-listens, so I decided to finally give a shot to the other two albums and well, they are pretty awful and have almost no redeemable qualities, this one especially is bottom of the barrel Drake, I firmly believe he cant go worse than this, it had to be a troll release.
Great soundtrack , I’m really eager to see the film next week to see if the critics are smoking crack or not. Not much to say about this , it’s classic Michael.
Another government mandated mid album by Drake. It’s genuinely impossible for this man to drop a concise project no more. Having said that it is not hot garbage like the rating says, it’s just boring and repetitive, Drake has been talking about the same shit since 2021 at this point, there are some good tracks, but they legit can not carry this project on their own, also I legit can not fathom any of these songs getting huge or leaving a impact in the future. If this album left me ... read more
While it was not influential enough to revamp MJ"s career, I still feel like it does a good enough job, there are some really great songs on here like: Unbreakable, Break of Dawn, You Rock my World and Butterflies. Like many pointed out the albums takes a dip in quality in the second half, with the majority of the tracks sounding un-focused, although I liked some of them. Solid but not in the same universe as Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad or even Dangerous.
I really enjoyed the vibe Isiah went for this album , even if it is not the most memorable experience , the overall consistency makes up for it.
It is not really bad , but it is a snooze fest, there are a couple good tracks.
