This is a unique sounding album that explores its own sound really well! The only real flaw I've found is in that some of the songs seem to drag themselves to be longer than they should be. Altogether, this is a very enjoyable album and is worth a listen.
"Prelude to Ecstasy" and "From the Pyre" are both albums that I can listen to almost any time and enjoy, which I love about the band. I found that "From the Pyre," is my favorite of the two, drawing in its audience to a beautiful world of emotion told though song, and it was done beautifully.
While I really enjoyed some of the songs and do feel like I'd revisit this album in the future and listen to songs from more regularly, I also found that it ended kind of abruptly and that there were just little things here and there that I wasn't fond of while listening. Personally, I found that my favorite songs from this album were among the ones without features, mainly being "Into You" and "Greedy".
Altogether, "Timely!!" is a really good album, and I personally find the slap bass, saxophone, and guitar features to be my favorite aspect of it. It's amazing how one can't really go wrong with funk or disco as genres, just because the soulful joy of each song can be enjoyable for pretty much anyone.
My only complaint about this album is that its repetitive nature makes the songs blend together as you listen, and less of them stand out as the album progresses. I felt like ... read more
