First off, Pete Murray has one of the most insanely underrated voices in music period. His voice is near perfect as he projects this sense of melodic calmness combined with rawness and aggression. The atmosphere of every song on this album generated this smooth, relaxed, but at the same time heavy and impactful feeling. The band does a spectacular job at blending the instruments with Pete Murray's angelic voice. Not a single track from this song doesn't hit, and this band deserves so ... read more
I'm just going to sayt this, I don't care what everyone thinks. Dave and the rest of the band had fun with this, and went out with a bang. The album is genuinely a fun ride and it's sad to see this monumental and influential band hang it up. Going into this I wasn't expecting Rust In Peace or Peace Sells type quality, because that's unable to be replicated, but this was a fun journey throughout. As an Avenged Sevenfold fan, this album is the embodiment of disappointment. The only good songs on here are Shepherd of fire and Coming Home. The rest sounds like they're trying to copy all the other metal bands that came before them and it's sounds so generic. The fact this comes after Nightmare is almost an insult. Say what you will about the next two albums and how they're experimental or they suck, but this is just lazy as shit. Only reason even have it at a 45 is because of ... read more
Metalcore had its ups and downs, but this is without a doubt one of the most influential.and intense metalcore albums. Unholy Confessions alone is iconic with its riffs, and the rest of the album is a pure bliss to listen to from Chapter Four to And All Things Will End, Avenged Sevenfold really created a landmark here.
