MvC2 is a very important game for me, it was one of my first fighting games as a kid (along with SFIV) and it’s the reason why I’m in love with fighting games to this day. Hell, I’m even making my own.
But another big importance ts has to me is of course the music. This game is my first exposure to jazz, and is THE reason why I love the genre so much. I also think the bright jazz fusion tracks of the game matches the straight utter chaos you’ll see in a game, whether ... read more
As a nigga who’s lived in Memphis I can confirm that we sacrifice our opps to Satan
Perfect from beginning to end. My favorite jazz rap album ever. Hell one of my favorite rap albums ever. It’s peak…
McKinley continues to out perform himself which each record he produces and this is proof of it. Magic alive is extremely ambitious album both lyrically and instrumentally. The story of the kids trying to bring their friend back to life is extremely emotional and poetic with Dixon’s lyrical genius. And there’s also a sprinkle of soul too??? He’s ... read more
One of the greatest jazz rap records to ever exist. Swingy, groovy beats with a sprinkle of boom bap to give that extra kick to it.
Jazz rap to me, is the purest genre of rap to me honestly. It’s a fusion of 2 genres created and innovated by African American artists time and time again.
Despite this album’s bounce, funk, and swing, the entire record is quite oddly relaxing with its instrumentation which gives it a very distinct sound that I quite haven’t heard from another ... read more
It was alright, very underwhelming.
However, something to believe in is peak. I remember hearing ts on madden 16.
Pretty funny album. Keep up the work man. It also nice to hear silly music that isn’t made with a prompt lol.
UNCS STILL GOT IT!
The tone of the guitar on this album is absolutely amazing, along with that booming ass bass.
Yeah these lyrics definitely bring me back to Jane Doe in the simplicity, yet the emotional energy in which they’re delivered just punch you in the face with songs like distract and divide. Hell, that song itself sounds like it belongs on Jane Doe, with blast beats to accommodate that unrelenting sound throughout the album. They also get a bit sludgy which I REALLY dig.

Pretty good album Mira. Favorite song was same leaves. Usually not the biggest fan of electronic stuff but this was sick
Holy tuff. Not as tuff as love is not enough, but I think ts will be 10x better with the whole album when it releases.
Such an extremely weird band. They’re definitely an acquired taste, but they definitely still suck lol.
Interesting Metalcore. The breakdowns were a bit repetitive, but the Japanese instrument on some of the tracks gave us a breath of fresh air, I’ve never really heard something like that in metal before.
A bit more groove oriented Nu metal, which is my type of Nu metal anyway. A couple of the songs on the album are responsible for a big part of my childhood, like Alive and kicking. Ong ts used to be in smack down vs raw all the time and it was my favorite to hear. Overall a special album to me with some nice groove and bangers
