back for a sec js to give this the rating it deserves and would get if it wasn’t by plaqueboymax. nothing revolutionary, but it isn’t stale either. has just enough uniqueness to feel fresh but not jarring. could’ve done more vocally, but his performances are much more lively and the adlib work is impeccable. solid shit truly
idgaf. this literally didn't feel like an hour. it's easy for an album of this length to drag towards the back end (i.e. fatd) but i feel he keeps it engaging throughout. when he sticks to the formula, its better than its ever been. when he's throwing shit at the wall (need, life's funny) it somehow sticks. it's not groundbreaking but it's new territory for him, and he traverses it fluently. utterly impressed and proud. will be on repeat for the foreseeable future

There are few albums that have a profound impact on me with my first listen. The first that comes to mind is The Glow Pt. 2. A monumental listening experience that marked a turning point in the trajectory of my being. I felt that same sensation rush back with TRICK. Maybe it isn't perfect in a traditional sense. Maybe Alex's voice isn't perfect and his songwriting is lackluster at times. Neither of those things deter me from giving this the 100 it rightfully earned in my heart. ... read more
