It sounds like a cashgrab. I can't speak to the intentions she may have had in the making of this behind closed doors, but it sounds too much like she's riding the reggaeton wave and using that to pander to her latin american fans. When it's truly focused, the storytelling here is incredibly thoughtful and potent. The first couple of tracks felt a bit too rambly in my opinion, and most of the production is a bit too minimalistic for my taste but the back half is truly something special. At its best it had me reflecting about my own life and who I wanted to be for those around me. That speaks to Dave's pen. He is a talent
I really came around to this by the end. There's something super sincere about their desperation to cling to their youth, and the longing to go back to simpler times. My main issue with this album was that their flows were incredibly basic, not making full use of the incredibly bouncy production. Their bars were also quite weak and often times repetitive, but they make up for it with their personality and their energy. This one was made for the clubs
Kinda standard Freddie gibbs but there are some very impressive moments on here because of how talented of a rapper he is
