If having the choice between an artist putting out the same albums with the same sounds and motifs for their career, or an artist experimenting and evolving into a new sound, 100% of the time I would rather the latter whether it pays off or not. Stagnation is how artists artistic careers die and stop being relevant or creative. Danny chose innovation and we are all the better for it. And his experimentation certainly paid off !

Underrated 80s hip hop gem that is incredibly funky and creative. It reminds me that hip hop used to be first and foremost, dance music.

I have been watching The Get Down (incredible btw) and it's gotten me in a big 80s hip hop mood so I decided to revisit the J beez debut which on a single listen I remember thinking was nothing special. I was so unbelievably wrong though.
