at this point the band is beyond the David Bowie inspired glam rock and is more in an average alternative rock sound that had been progressing along since The Chinese Album, the biggest shame about this album is the fact that it got bascially no attention whatsoever because there are definitely some gems on here that have been hidden, especially when you consider it only made it onto spotify in 2024.

Im not a fan of having both an interlude and a 3 minute instrumental only song on an album where they dont really belong but other than that I can see why this album pushed Everclear into the mainstream
with tracks like the title track, Everything to Everyone, Father of Mine, and Sunflowers its no wonder they managed to beat their one hit wonder status from Santa Monica
they really shouldnt try and mix banjo with california rock again though it didnt work.

The end of the road for Butthole Surfers, going full cringy alt rock while trying to act like their old 80s self but instead of fueling this album with punk or avant garde sounds, its jamming songs with y2k era soundbites or mixing alt rock with other genres that should have never touched a butthole surfers song. the glam rock, David Bowie inspired Resident Alien is one of the most criminally underrated and fun rock albums of the 90s. from its hit single In The Meantime to the painfully beautiful Ship Wrecked there's a song for everyone on here, whether it be for someone looking for a fun rock track to jam out to or a sad song to lament with.
