Invaders Must Die surprised me with diversity and distinctiveness of each song even though Prodigy managed to keep a unified theme. This I think is a very underrated aspect to albums in general and, as I found, often overlooked or not done that well by many other authors.
The first four songs did what I think Kim tried to achieve, but the rest is just a step down, especially in terms in originality. Polo for me marks the divide especially, as I would consider that to be the worst song of the album by far, rivaled only maybe by the likes od Jeep.
Haven’t heard such a boring album since Kali Uchis’ Sincerely,. At least there the individual songs had some charm, but in Nothing’s About to Happen to Me all the tracks either do not stand out even induvidually or are just plain bad. Where’s My Phone? has to be one of the worst songs I heard in my life. Just to be fully honest, I couldn’t be bothered to finish this LP, so if anyone feels the need to, listen to the whole thing and make a more educated conclusion ... read more
This man just does not miss. Absolutely stunning, just wow. Compared to his debut it definitely feels more refined, though a tiny bit of that rawness element has gone away.
Punk-rock filled with a late 2000s feel to the absolute brim, damn is it good. All I Wanted really makes for such a fitting and satisfying climax to an amazing LP.
