The singles from THE IDOL Vol. 1 is... bordeline disappointing at this point. With critics completely destroying the series, the visuals not being *so* surprising, and people just being excited for it because of Jennie Ruby Jane (which is already expected from k-pop fans), the music is making it even worse. Both Metro and Mike are known for being masters of their work, but, why is Double Fantasy and Popular this lowkey boring? I love Abel's music, but everything related to THE IDOL is not doing ... read more
Though the track has "lots of things" happening at the same time, it somehow is harmonical, chaotic, but it "makes sense". Lil Uzi Vert shouldn't fit in here, in theory, but he does. It sounds so strange and obnoxious at first listen, but after a couple of tries, it just connects itself - you get it later.

Even after 3 years of release, it continues to be a very great work by BMTH. Most songs are solid and very well executed, like Paradise Eve, Teardrops, 1x1 and Ludens, for example. Though I think Obey is the weakest track included, it still is pretty good - (somehow) fits in the band's and YUNGBLUD's sound brand, but not that much specifically to this EP's theme. But it's there, I guess. I come back to this every while, and I'm sure that this is my favorite work by them so far.
