2003 was not it for a lot of things in the world. This was no exception. The decline of nu metal and the departure of Wes Borland as bassist contributed to this album.
It’s like if Helmet took their already existing sound and delved headfirst into the onslaught that was the nu metal scene in 2001. It’s the follow - up that Aftertaste could’ve been.
A glimmering piece of radio - friendly, alternative rock that still holds up and was a unique addition to the radio rock format of its era. Could go neck and neck with The Autumn Effect by 10 Years.
Tracks that are highly recommendable would be Beg, Cold (But I’m Still Here), Over, Dark That Follows, and Eclipsed, but the whole album is a must listen.
Oh, look. The album that, single-handedly, killed my love for pop punk and outright made me want the genre to go kill itself, got a reissue. How lovely. 😍😍
This right here is how I grew to loathe rock music made in the 2020s. This is where it started. I’ve been miserable since this album dropped six years back. Rock music jumped off a bridge after this guy went pop punk.
Hey, Luke from Rocked Reviews. Now would be the good time to do a Regretting the Past video on this.
