My favourite (?) album from Kanye. Kanye's ability to go from producer to artist is shown on several songs on this album. Through The Wire is one of the greatest rap performances in history. The way he's able to rap while having his jaw wired shut is better than most other artists while fully healthy. While this album does have funny lines like "Got a light-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson, Got a dark-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson", it touches on serious ... read more
Disappointing from Travis, his worst project by far. While I dont mind Travis' use of autotune in the majority of his songs, it is unbearable on this album. Production on this album is good for the most part, but unfortunately it can't save the album from confusing songs like "SHYNE".
My personal favourite from Kendrick. An experimental album that worked for me. It explores some of the worst moments in his life like on "Mother I Sober" and his life from 2017-18 (Damn and the Black Panther Album) to 2022. A lot of people struggle to come back to the album after the first listen, due to the sadness and deepness of the songs, but for me it has good replayability. Some of my favourite songs are off this album. Kendricks most vulnerable album.
good kid, m.A.A.d city is one of those once in a lifetime albums. The storytelling, production, and lyricism on this album is unmatched, and Kendricks best work by far. While not my personal favourite from him, it is undeniable how influential and great this album truly is.
My least favourite project from Kendrick. When the album came out I liked it much more than I do now, but over time it's grown poorly on me. A lot of the songs feel like they're made to please people and make it high on the charts, making for a stale album. Huge difference from MMATBS which doesn't mean its bad, but its interesting how kendrick could go from mr morale to this.
Great album from Sampha. Creative albums like these are why I love music so much. The songs are simplistic yet complicated making for a great listening experience. One of my favourite albums as of right now, hopefully it will grow on me even more. Jonathon L. Seagull is my favourite on the album. Disc 2 also really elevated this album.
This album is one of my favourites, and unfortunately flies under the radar for the most part, as Saba is not a huge artist yet (like the likes of kendrick, cole, jid etc.) Production is a huge positive for the album in general, and so many songs took advantage of it. head.rap is one of my favourite songs at the time of writing due to production, flow, storytelling, and concept. All songs in the album feel as if they don’t fit together but somehow they do, creating one of my favourite ... read more
The album does what it's supposed to do. It meant to be a fun album that was intended for people to dance to, and has less of a serious note compared to the rest of Tylers discography. The back half of the album picks up drastically, having the better songs.
