all the more reason to look through the rest of her discography; it may not have the two perfect tracks that started off abyss, but it's incredibly consistent and a testament to knowing that you don't always need a great explosion to cause this much emotional fallout.

i might just not get it? like the instrumentals are deranged, and i couldn't imagine not-extreme vocals being necessary to 'make it work', but.. i just can't listen to too much all at once—and maybe that's the best compliment, because it was such an intense experience

at least jazz is for ordinary people was nice enough to be shorter and less stuck in its own head; this just repeats these weird nu jazz and house trills until it isn't even sure what either are anymore. it starts nowhere and ends without ever having made a case for how it melds those sounds and 'commentaries' on vague notions
