Pleasantly suppressed with this album. Future is one of my favorite rappers right now and I think this album he is just in his zone the entire time. I love the hard production, especially on “Ocean”, that intro turnt me up.
Best Song: Ocean
Worst: Plutoski
Some cool records on this but overall, it’s not it. Lil Uzi Vert needs to stop rushing out these albums and just drop some better albums.
What if instead of Freddie Gibbs his name was Freaky Gibbs and instead of dropping You Only Die 1nce he dropped You Only Freak 1nce
But for real, this is a great album. I still can’t believe BNYX can make a beat like that. Love how Freddie has consistently put out great albums throughout this decade, and I’m excited to see what’s next.
So Domo Genesis, odd future throwaway, completely irrelevant rapper, decides to randomly drop one of the greatest tapes of all time. The Red Corolla is a masterpiece. The soulful yet dusty sample beats compliment Domo’s brilliant rap and flow, and the entire vibe of the album is portrayed perfectly through songs like “Honestly, I Just Want a Good Time” and “The Red Corolla”. It was hated when released. It’s became one of the most underrated Ye albums. That three track run of BEG FORGIVENESS, PROBLEMATIC, and KING is very solid. The perception of this album would be vastly different without that cover and CARNIVAL. We live in a Post-Ye time, this might be the best album we are gonna get in a while 💀.
