K.A.A.N. - In Due Time
72

"In Due Time" is the 26th studio album by the Maryland rapper K.A.A.N. with collaboration of Los Angeles producer DJ Hoppa. This is the 2 of the 3 collaboration albums they have done together as of writing of this review. This album improves a lot of aspects of the previous album, mainly the production. However a big issue that wasn't fix is the repetetives of the songs. Mainly in topics and in K.A.A.N.'s rapping. If you heard one song you pretty much heard all of the LP and ... read more

K.A.A.N. - Delusions Of Grandeur
67

"Delusions of Grandeur" is the 25th studio album by the Maryland rapper K.A.A.N. with collaboration of Los Angeles producer DJ Hoppa. As of writing of this review they have released 3 studio albums together with this one being their first. The production from Hoppa is pretty good with some nice dark samples and dirty drums. From the rapping side, this LP is also pretty much great with your standard K.A.A.N. stuff. My biggest problem with this record is pretty much just how average it ... read more

Snoop Dogg - Missionary
68

"Missionary" is Snoop Dogg's 19th studio album mainly produced by non other than Dr. Dre and it is... okay for what is it. While there are some weaker moment and the project's quality goes pretty much up and down from song to song. It manages to have enough high points for it to not be any lower. The production is amazing as usual since it is Dre, however the thing that suprised me the most was Snoop's rapping. It isn't super technical but it is very charming ... read more

Ab-Soul - Soul Burger
68

"Soul Burger" is the 3th mixtape by an American rapper Ab-Soul. On this project we see Soul trying out more mainstream sounds with various degree of success, along side lyrical content that still sounds sharp with a lot of cool wordplay. While they are good or even great songs on here, there are quite a few mediocre/okay-ish ones, especially in the middle of this mixtape that drag the whole experience down for me. Also while the features for the most part were good maybe even great, ... read more

Vince Staples - Dark Times
82

"Dark Times" is the 6th studio album by an American rapper Vince Staples. This is an album that is both sad and uplifting at the same time. With beatiful production on which Vince slides over perfectly. This LP just has this "nostalgic" charm to it that is really hard to replicate. Of course the album isn't perfect, my main concern is that the mixing on the vocals can be a little bit rough around the edges sometimes and part of it suffers a little bit 'cause of ... read more

J. Cole - Might Delete Later
74

"Might Delete Later" is J. Cole's 4th mixtape and it is a pretty good listen. The production on here is mostly alright with some incredible highlights, like Ready '24 or Trae The Truth in Ibiza. Rapping from Cole (besides a few bad lines) is top notch as always and most of the features were pretty good. Again nothing groudbreaking, but a cool listen nonetheless with some incredible highlights.

Best songs: Ready '24 (feat. Cam'ron), 3001, Trae The Truth in ... read more

Tha God Fahim & Cookin Soul - Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga
83

"Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga" is a collab between The rapper Tha God Fakim and the producent Cookin Soul. This is a sweet and to the point tape full of amazing beats with hard hitting drums, which Fakim glides over effortlessly. My only complain is that the features could have been better and usually are the weakest part of the album.

Best songs: Get Ur Weight Up, Pedal To The Floor, Safe Hands
Worst songs: Heavy (Ft. Raz Fresco), The way of the Samurai

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
79

"BLUE LIPS" is Schoolboy Q's 6th studio album and a return after a 5 year hiatus. This project is overall pretty good, but I was definitely disappointed with it considering how amazing most of the singles were. But starting with positives - the production is very interesting, with it synth based sound and some beatiful samples sprinkle throughout. Q himself does a good enough job here with no big highlights in terms of his rapping, same with most of the features except Freddie ... read more

LL COOL J - THE FORCE
76

"The FORCE" (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy) is the 14th studio album of a hip hop legend - LL COOL J with big involvement of another hip hop legend Q-Tip. This is a strange album, good but strange nonetheless. Starting with positives - man that production is amazing, with creative samples and funky basslines, it makes it such a entertaining listen, which is mainly thanks to Q-Tip who also did most of the hooks and he does a fantastic job when it comes to them. Overall I think ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - You Only Die 1nce
85

"You Only Die 1nce" is the 6th studio album by the American rapper - Freddie Gibbs. It is a consistent fun collection of songs that, while most of them are pure brag, there is still a lot of interesting and introspective lyrics on this album. The production also deserves a shoutout, it is magnificent and fits Gibbs's amazing flows.

Overall this is an amazing project from him and I'm hyped for the next project that he has cooking up. (Also Freddie please clear that sample ... read more

Yeat - 2093
75

Yeat's "2093" is this American rapper's 4th studio album. The record itself has fantastic production that contributes to this "futuristic" and space-like vibe that it has, which makes it a very interesting listen, since from what I have heard of Yeat's music, it sounds nothing like what he did in the past. Yeat sloppily but successfully manages to hold his own and rap over these beats in his weird, but special way and the features aren't half bad either. ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
84

Tyler, the Creator's "Chromakopia" is the American artist's 8th studio album that was entirely self-produce by Tyler himself. The record itself is a amazing listen full of great storytelling, amazing production and a constistent sound from the beginning to the end. We see T talking about really mature subject matters, the biggest one being adulthood and parenthood. My biggest problem with the album is that I wish some of the features themself were a little bit longer. But ... read more

Doechii - Alligator Bites Never Heal
79

"Alligator Bites Never Heal" is the 3th mixtape by the American rapper - Doechii and it is a awesome listen. The production was consistent and varied, ranging from chill lofi boom bap to trap to slow rnb, etc. Of course Doechii herself does a great job on this record as well, with her phenomenal and charismatic performance. The only major issue I have with this Mixtape is that I just wished the songs were longer, because a lot of the tracks here make me want more, but as is I ... read more

Benny the Butcher - Everybody Can't Go
70

Benny the Butcher's 4th studio album "Everybody Can't Go" is a pretty good listen. The Butcher's rapping is top notch as always, the production - tho boring at times is usually high quality and features for the most part are solid. The only one I didn't like was Lil Wayne on "Big Dog" due to boring performance, but that is the problem with the song overall. Also the record does get kinda boring at times during the 2th half, but the 1th half makes up for ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
69

"GNX" is the 6th studio album of a rapper known as Kendrick Lamar (a.k.a. K. Dot) and I have some mixed feelings on this one. To start with the positives - Kendrick in terms of rapping does amazing as always and we get some amazing storytelling tracks on this LP such as "reincarnated". We also get amazing features from SZA and others, but this is kinda where everything falls apart for me. The rest of the features are okay and I get that Kendrick wants to push newer/smaller ... read more

detahjae - Lone, Borealis
72

"Lone, Borealis" is a debut album of an artist called detahjae and it is a pretty good debut all things considered tho not perfect. The biggest upside for me has to be the atmospheric production. It is very Tyler inspired, like a combination of "Igor" and "Bastard" with those heavy synths and a "messy" arrangement. It is able to set this cosmic-like mood that not a lot of new artists can achieve this early into their career. Though Detahjae's rapping ... read more

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
77

"The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)" is the 12th studio album by a rapper Eminem also known as Marshall Bruce Mathers III. This LP was met with a pretty mixed reactions upon release with some people loving it and some thinking it was trash plain and simple. I personally think this record is pretty good with a interesting concept that while I think in the grand scheme of things it was executed good with the songs nicely transitioning into each other, it leaves a few things ... read more

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
59

"WE DON'T TRUST YOU" is the first ever collaboration album between Future and Metro Boomin... and it is okay. Look I know I am in the minority here, but imo it feels like Future on this project just doesn't try for the most part resulting in a really boring listen that is only held up by the amazing tho repetetive production by Metro Boomin and amazing features (except Travis on "Type Shit", his whole verse felt like building up to something that never happened). ... read more

Denzel Curry - KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH

Another great deluxe from Denzel.

If you're a fan of the original "King Of The Mischievous South, Vol. 2", you will definitely like the new songs.

Best new songs: P.O.P, STILL IN THE PAINT
Worst new songs: ANOTHA LATE NITE

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
90

Denzel Curry's "King Of The Mischievous South, Vol. 2" is the artist's 7th mixtape and in short, a very consistent listen. Due to not hearing the first one I can't compare to the original, but that it something I didn't really find a problem with during my album experience. Denzel just keeps knocking it out of the park with his consistency and ability to go from an introspective and thoughtfull album to a mixtape full of non-stop bangers (G'z Up to Cole Pimp ... read more
