Dylan Gossett’s “Like I Do” hits differently from his usual tracks, and it feels like he’s branching out musically with this one. It’s a sweet sounding melody that carries a bittersweet undercurrent, wrapping listeners up in both warmth and melancholy at the same time. There’s no denying that he’s pushing his artistic boundaries here, and from my perspective, it’s a step in a really promising direction.
One of the most stunning aspects of the ... read more
“Hey, nothing” is what some of you may say when you text an ex then regret it once they respond, but it is also the name of a rising Atlanta-based emo-folk duo comprising of Tyler and Harlow. The young band have recently come out with their new EP called 33°, which is a 5 song special filled with complex emotions about being stuck between the horrors of your past and the anxieties of your future.
Tyler and Harlow are clearly writing from a place in their heart that ... read more
my girlfriend got me this vinyl for my birthday yesterday. i love her so much. this is my favourite album ever.
Listening on my record player with a candle going to create the full almost famous effect. I’ve never really been that invested in The Who, but I thought I’d give this album a try.
The chorus of 1921 really reminds me of another song, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
I’m just not sure that I’m a big fan of The Who to be honest. Yes, they’re considered one of the greats and I can see why people love them, but it’s just not for me I don’t ... read more
I saw a tiktok say that this album feels like the deer disease that makes them go crazy and im 30 seconds in and i couldnt agree more. Im listening at midnight in my pitch black room and im creeped out already, i dont know how she manages it. Only ethel cain can make 12 minutes of buzzing into a gripping song.
Punish came on and i just immediately started crying??? Im not sure if it was intentional or just mic issues, but in the background of the song, it’s almost like a death rattle and ... read more
I’ve been a Los Camp fan for many many years, and at some point between then and now, I discovered this secret masterpiece. As much as I appreciate that a lot of people discovered Sparky from TikTok, I would like to claim my place as an Og listener.
At risk of sounding basic, I love September so much. It might be my favourite from Sparky. The melodies, the guitar, the drums, the typewriter, the lyrics—I genuinely don't believe a song has made me feel as much as this song does ... read more
To begin with, my Dad listened to “Alone” on the way back from the hospital after my nan had died holding his hand, so he said that he will forever associate this album with her. And what a perfect song to associate with such a beautiful soul lost; we both cried to it when he picked me up in his car and told me that story.
This album has a similar vibe to Disintegration (1989), the type of album you have to listen to loudly in the dark of your room or driving down a highway at ... read more
I’m a long time follower of Sean’s tiktok, pre his a song a day videos and I love his work so much so I had to add this album to AOTY.
First song feels very autumny and feels like it would be perfect in the life is strange sound track, it reminds me of a lot of the music I would listen to in 2022/23, like Syd Matters and Elliot Smith and people with calming voices like that. I have a feeling a lot of these songs will be on my autumn playlist this year.

John Denver may be my favourite artist of all time, he’s the type of guy you have to listen to while looking at the stars. My life mission is to get every one of his albums on vinyl, currently only on 10, but i’m getting there. It would be cool if I could maybe play one of them at mine and my girlfriends wedding, it would probably make my life complete.
I bought this one months ago, but still haven’t listened to it on vinyl yet.

I am reminiscing and lowkey like I still kinda fuck with it. Monster has always been my fav. I had a conversation over twitter dms with Prelor about music production and stuff, he's sound.
I am a huge Zach Bryan fan and I have been looking forward to this album since the single came out, I am expecting great things from his as per usual :) The harmonica and the banjo are maybe my favourite instruments and I think he perfectly includes them in his music, truly can not fail.
Having a poem in the album really reminded me of John Denver, which made me smile, especially having the album name at the end of the poem gosh, but I wouldn’t listen to it by itself personally.

I saw Mt. Joy twice on their UK tour, in London and Brighton and I think it was maybe one the best concerts I have ever been to. I would've gone to more shows if I could have. The setlist was similar to this and bro it's just so good. Brilliant even.
Nothing can ever beat their first albums, however, this one is great too, I'm not sure they have it in them to make a bad album. It's not really my vibe anymore, but I know 2017 me would've eaten this up cuz some of this fucks so hard. Having Next Semester as a single was possibly THE best move they could've done in my opinion. Also the backslide music video bike being the same bike as the stressed out bike is the coolest little piece of information that I learned today.

This is just an all around great album, it has bangers, but also some that I would skip, but that doesn't mean that they're bad. To start with, Brian May is undeniably a great guitarist and his solos are so uniquely him that it makes the songs so much more soulful. They often prioritise instrumentals over singing, which I am a huge fan of, especially since in a lot of modern music, singing is the focus, but with Queen, they could've made a song without Freddie and I would still listen. That's ... read more
