This is super solid and quite enjoyable new album from Los Campesinos! My score here lands it straight in with the other album from this group that I listened to, We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, and yeah to me it holds up exactly with that standard. Now if you were a big fan of the genre, that standard would probably be REALLY good, like 8-9/10 level, but indie rock and midwest emo is always going to fall a LITTLE flat for me, with songs starting to dull out towards the end. That is precisely what happened here, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a really well made and uplifting album. I wouldn't describe it as "happy"... but it just has a sonically uplifting quality to me that makes it a nice listen. People were complaining about lyrics in other reviews but I didn't find them really "cringe" in any noteworthy sense. It's great!
