this is like one of my favourite deadmau5 instrumentals and i really dont think the vocals work, will definitely not be listening to this over the original (ASEED by deadmau5)
there are times where they work really nice, like at the start of the first drop, but the type of vocals on for example "find the light tunnels escape them in water" sound suuuper strange and im sure its by design it just doesnt work unfortunately. honestly even when the vocals are good id just... rather listen ... read more
I quite literally could not tell you a single thing that happened in the second half of this album
Except for the fact that Nana is TERRIBLE
Idk his voice and delivery is just annoying as shit I am not a fan at all tbh
Wow this was actually way better than I expected (see Arizona) and to be honest its a travesty that they both have the same user score but IT'S FINEEE this is a Ghostholding review.
But yeah even though this really FEELS an hour long, which usually isn't great it's a very nice vibe and I think the vocals especially have improved a LOT compared to Arizona, the instrumentals are also just like 10 times more interesting and it feels well put together even if this isn't exactly ... read more
Ohhhh it's peak
no review im very tired but its liek really really good trust me
Holy shit I have never heard of this band before and I unironically could see this EP becoming one of my favourite pieces of music ever, like SUPER high up there dude holy SHIT. How the hell do you improvise this??? The bellowing vocals in the back, roaring sax that adds so much sadness and helplessness to the entire 22 minute runtime, the constant banging OBLITERATION of this drum kit LMAOO holy shit dude this is such an auditory experience. It's so beautiful, the fact that they ... read more
It's cool, bit of a nothing project tho, like as soon as it starts to really hit it just ends LMAO, but maybeI'm just conditioned to enjoy those really long Smokey projects. It's pretty great!

wait this is actually peak
Pretty cool mixtape, you can see where he started and stuff but it's nothing very special to be honest, just a pretty average listen
Yeah, everything that you've heard about this album is right, it's absolutely amazing. Clocking in at nearly 3 hours, it's just banger after banger. It's like everything that he's done right in his other projects has been pulled out of them and put into this. That being said, I don't think it's absolutely PERFECT but I could absolutely see myself giving this a 10 someday. There's story influences of the "codeine demonz", the smoothest, most ... read more
Wow, this is so cool. Genuinely completely unlike everything I've ever heard, but I mean yeah it's amazing, so so creative in it's sound and formation. Drums are easily just my favourite instrument, any kind of percussion really is cool but drums are by FAR the most common and I just love them. Spotify describes Deantoni Parks as "Experimental Percussion" and yeah i mean that's perfect, such an interesting album that I think I probably could describe badly but I ... read more
What a stupid fucking concept for an album that actually works so well LMAOO. Absolutely bizarre album, genuinely sounds nothing like any of his other albums and also exactly like all of his other albums at the same time. Mostly nothing like the others tho, it's WEIRD like who bases an album of trees and forests, then goes and finds samples of kids shows talking about trees and stuff. This unironically feels more drug infused than any album he made that actually talked about drugs LMAO. ... read more
So, DJ Smokey's attempt at a more positive, danceable and upbeat instrumental hip-hop based album, and yeah it's cool! The only thing is that it manages to be less interesting and engaging than every other album/mixtape he had made up to this point. There are like glimpses of absolute greatness, Wavey Planet is absolutely peak and there are a couple others too but I don't remember most of these honestly. I think this album kinda inspired his style and stuff for a few years but eh ... read more
"THIS IS MORE THAN MIXTAPES. IT'S A MOVEMENT."
And that's it! The final chapter of the Traphouse Of Horrors series! There's technically a chapter 4 on Positive Squad The Soundtrack but this is the finale of the trilogy and chapter 4 never got released on its own anyways so.
Yeah I mean it's phenomenal again. What can I say that I haven't already said, the drums REALLY stood out to me here literally just builds beats off drums and some random vocal sample and ... read more
Banger album, all the samples from The SImpsons and South Park were really cool, not a whole lot to say about this one, just full of really smooth and beats and ONE NOTE, damn these songs are long LMAO. Yeah it's great!
I have always absolutely loved continuous mixes, as in albums with songs that flow perfectly in to one another without audible transitions. the Traphouse Of Horrors series does this, which I find really cool. Chapter 2 is better than the first one in my opinion honestly, and it's REALLY good. 9 Tracks, with clips from news reports about trap houses and the dangers of drugs between every one. It's just SUCH a good concept, the memphis samples and just general production is absolutely ... read more
Very fire mixtape, I enjoyed it a lot after giving it like 3 or 4 listens cus I was too lazy to review it LMAO. But yeah, contains Dj Smokey's usual creative ass production with more inventive and great vocal semples from old memphis rap songs or wherever he got them from LMAO. It's really good!
Actually very enjoyable album, i think I agree with what Fantano said. It's simple, especially in its lyrics and rapping but the vibe it creates through the production is just REALLY cool, and what he was trying to pulled off was pulled off really well. Definitely mostly due to the production but the features were great and his voice/rapping was great too. Very solid album!
I LOVE INSTRUMENTAL HIP HOP!! PHONK IS A PEAK GENRE!!!!
This album is so good. It's like he took the best parts of Evil Wayz and Purple Diamondz to fuse them into this beautiful mixtape. It was made as a tribute to DJ Screw and I think it serves it's purpose perfectly. It's more of the same, but it's just so good. Great drums, melodies and vocal samples, what can I say that I haven't said before. It's amazing!
