Emo rap is an intentionally cold, ugly, and cynical music genre. Artists like Bones, Lil Peep, and Sematary have mastered these aspects of the genre in styles that they've made their own, and styles that I adore.

The super conceptual exotic tracks are easily my favorite parts of this album, and I really wish it took more risks like that. I respect Damon for tackling a project so ambitious (especially after projects as "safe" as The Now Now and Cracker Island), but for every track that feels daring and out-there, we get another formulaic synthpop romp.
