given that p.o.p. was probably my second most streamed project from 2024, i knew that this was going to be fire. however, it's a bit less instantly gratifying than its predecesor. the highlights are scattered all over the album but then you've got a couple of songs that don't really go anywhere, they exist on their own simplicity. anyhow, pop too is still a quintessentially fun album full of sass that speaks for her ever-so-expanding confidence and sense of self-mockery.

the whole concept behind perverts is morbidly genius. i was glued to my screen reading all of the genius annotations as i went through the ep and i'm willing to give her all the flowers for that, but there are some moments (housofpsychoticwomn and pulldrone especially) where the project felt a bit too drawn out. that said, title track should have a much higher rating imo.

faves: perverts, punish, vacillator, etienne and amber waves.

ngl, this hit me quite hard from the lyric perspective. as someone who's currently going head over heels for someone, lo único que quiero felt like a very accurate description of being lovesick. production-wise also felt like such a step up from "by your side", especially from the vocal perspective. it's way more immersive. i REALLY enjoyed it and i'm not saying it for the sake of being nice, i mean it! i can't wait to listen to the ep!!!

kim petras on her third debut album manages to strip herself from any personality that made her likeable before to feed, quite literally, the beast. make sure to stream kesha's brand new album, gag order. <3

yaeji has always been somewhat of an odd-ball in the music industry. there’s nothing, to my knowledge, that sounds remotely similar to what she’s doing at the moment. the best way i could attempt to describe her music is by saying that she turns lo-fi beats into awkward glitchy atmospheres as she sings over them with her baby like voice. the end result can be very varied at times but, for the most part, the songs hit.

RЯ is a very cute ep full of bouncy beats and catchy hooks. there’s nothing close to motomami levels of experimentation by any means but their chemistry is notable and i can’t wait to go out to a club to lose my shit to vampiros. i’m also really happy for their recent engagement. i wish the best to our motoparents. <3
