Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside
98

'𝙄 𝙖𝙞𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙩𝙚, 𝙄 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚'

I don't know how I managed to spend so long under appreciating how fucking amazing this album is. On IDLSIDGO Earl displays his most bleak and moody sound that he ever has and ever will achieve. While one could make a very valid argument for SRS being better written than this, ... read more

Giles Corey - Giles Corey
91

'𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙜𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚, 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚'

*insert unfunny RYM-core meme about how this is sadder than Deathconciousness*. Everything about this album from its sound, its instruments, how it presents itself, the lyrics and the general atmosphere contributes to being as depressing and gloomy as possible, which fyi I do not mean as a ... read more

Drake - Thank Me Later
82

'𝙄 𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙠𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙'

In many aspects, 'Thank Me Later; is very comparable to Drake's previous release but also does its own work to indivudualise itself. First of all he really hones in on his rapping on this album with this containing more interesting and menainful writing and bars as well as the beats evolving ... read more

Drake - So Far Gone
79

'𝙎𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙨, 𝙄 𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛'

Recently I saw a video of lospollos asking Fantano if he's been on a Drake and drive so I had to see if he was onto something, and I can't lie he might have been onto something with this one because driving to this mixtape would be kinda crazy. I think the enjoyment of this taoe would highly depend on what you want/expect to get out of it, he doesn't overly wow you with his ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs
81

'𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚, 𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙜𝙚𝙩, 𝙪𝙝, 𝙪𝙝, 𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙣, 𝙖 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙣, 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙉𝙖𝙝, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙣, 𝙪𝙝, 𝙪𝙝'

I thought I'd treat myself and revisit my favourite JPEGMAFIA album instead of his new one but i still left kinda disapointed. I remember ... read more

SALEM - OhK
81

'𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙪𝙥'

SALEM go for a more melodic approach on their third EP which is only 2 songs, I think this works quite well for OhK with it being probably their most energetic song up to that point with them experimenting with different drum patterns to give a different rythym to what was heard previously which I quite enjoyed. Sweat (I) isnt as good as OhK but it's an acceptable track nonetheless.

Best: ... read more

SALEM - Water
84

'𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥?'

SALEM's second EP isn't very disimilar from their first, even containing the same opening track, but Skullcrush being here is what slightly edges this over their first for me with it being one of SALEM's best tracks to date with some beautifyully layered sounds all coming together and complimenting each other, other than that it's more of the same sound but a bit ... read more

SALEM - Yes, I Smoke Crack
82

'𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩, 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙮𝙚𝙩'

Quite a stellar debut EP from SALEM which showcases the production which put them onto the map, the OG Redlights isn't quite what was on King Night but it's still damn good, with Snakes and Deepburn not being quite that level but still solid Witch House tracks and Dirt being a really underrated track in their ... read more

Drake - ICEMAN
44

'𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙄'𝙢 𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝'

You guys just don't get it, ICEMAN is actually a really intelligent social experiment from the big Drizzle to see how many times he can make the same song in a row until people notice, and you are all his results!!! Drake manages to to show how washed of a writer and rapper he is on this one, with him managing to say just about nothing in 68 whole ... read more

Hi-C - No More Heroes, Vol. 1
80

'𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛'

About a year or so ago I probably would've given this album like 15 ratings higher but it's grown off me a good amount. The beats are great which is typical of old Hi-C but the rapping and variety isn't great, the first 5 tracks aren't massively different for me and the major standout is keroro because of it's flow and energy ... read more

Bladee - Icedancer
94

''𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄'𝙢 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪'

Bladee and Ripsquad show a ridiculous amount of chemistry on Icedancer both bringing the absolute best out of eachother, with Lusi and Rip providing phenomenal beats front to back basically designed for Bladee to thrive on. It really captures a singular sound effortlessly with production that can't be heard ... read more

"𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮"

There isn't another album that sounds like 'Is This It', and honestly I think it's better off that way as I don't think if someone had another attempt they could top what has already been made. Although technically speaking it doesn't feel like it does all that much is really executes it's vibe and mood effortlessly ... read more

Vylet Pony - Gonarch's Lair
34

"𝘼𝙮𝙤, 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙙𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙪𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝘾9𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙣𝙤 𝘽𝙡å𝙝𝙖𝙟"

Rap album for breakcore fans

Vylet Pony made sure to pay homage to DEMONDICE on this one featuring some hard to listen to levels of bad and corniness when it came to their rapping which would be mocked if it were done by anyone without their reputation with the beats sounding like high quality meme rap ... read more
