Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun

Overhyped, carried by title track.

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine
95

Eternal sunshine shows ariana grande in a calmer, more reflective space. she focuses on the emotional fallout after a breakup, mixing honesty, self critique, and healing. more polished R&B-leaning production and surprisingly, vocals in her lower register keep it intimate, making the album feel like a tight, mature snapshot rather than a string of popstar ari moments like we got used to for her last 3 albums. this is definitely my favorite album from her and it proves that ariana can step in ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend
83

this is not the flop people say it is. it gave me exactly what i expected: sabrina’s soft, expressive vocals, lots of personality and humor, and that sexy, replayable edge. it is not on the level of short n’ sweet, but it hits many of the same notes.
my main issue is that some tracks feel like they are chasing short n’ sweet too closely, especially “tears.” as a single, it feels more like a caricature of her style than something genuine. overall, the album is good, ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet
85

This is sabrina at her peak pop music wise; the way she mixes charismatic, clever bops with emotional pop ballads is exceptional. She is definitely a prominent figure in pop music that people need right now. My biggest gripe with this album is the sadder songs; the slow tracks really take away from the overall momentum and replay value. Her songwriting style, which works so well with upbeat, witty, confident songs, doesn’t fully carry these drearier ballads the way they need to, and they ... read more

Beyoncé - Lemonade
100

This album feels larger than just a collection of songs. Every choice is deliberate, from the genre-blending production and striking visuals to the emotional arc that moves through anger, betrayal, healing, and self-worth without losing focus. The mix of rock, country, soul, R&B, hip hop, and blues always serves the story, not just the sound. Tracks like “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” “Freedom,” and “All Night” show how easily Beyoncé shifts between ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
66

Unfortunately, this album is very overrated; I like her previous work, but this unfortunately sounds like uninspired, white-noise machine music, and Billie has gone down this route before. Sonically it is okay, but lyrically it comes off as juvenile and uninteresting, recycling the same tired, depressed schtick with slight queer overtones mixed in. The only song I find myself returning to is “Wildflower,” because of the more confessional lyrics and the unique emotional weight and ... read more

I really don't have much to say about this

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
95

Beyoncé is one of the very few artists who can be in the game for three decades, consistently reinvent herself every era, and still remain at the top of her game artistically. For the past decade, she has proven that she is a force to be reckoned with on stage, but she’s also an exceptional recording artist whose attention to detail and vocal precision elevate every project. This album conceptualizes the idea that Black Americans are often shut out of spaces and genres they ... read more
