Mac's emotionally deepest project, even more than Swimming in certain way. The level of production of this project is absolutely immaculate, mixing creativity with a special sound that always has made Mac unique; probably my favorite part is how open he sounds in most of the songs, showing parts of his own emotions and feelings that he never showed again until his unfortunate death.
Of all of Mac's discography, even though I think is his 2nd best album, this is the album that ... read more
I'm literally crying rn this song is so fucking good
This is one of the biggest bricks the band put in their new sonority, and I'm glad I was there to listen to it.
We have some interesting things here, like the calmer and simpler instrumental, in comparison to their frequent use of synths and pop elements in their songs, which has its good and bad points; there is a weird use of a vocal processing, which is not meant for everyone, but I think it sounds really cool, it just needed to be polished; finally, we have fantastic lyrics here, not ... read more
Guys, I love this band, but I don't know what the hell is this. The only good part of it is the classic and iconic instrumental, but that's all: The vocalist's spanish is horrible, and for some reason he sings really bad when he tries to speak it.
Probably one of their best songs, and it was one their first ones!
The energy here is absolutely perfect, and it mixes really well with the melodic and nostalgic instrumental; the best part (and the reason it is almost a 9/10), it has amazing lyrics: You can feel the concern of the vocalist in his voice and lyrics. This is one of those songs I wish I could listen to it again for the first time.
Such a great way to use Abel's voice in a different genre! The beat is really interesting, but I'm not much into Brazilian funk, so I can't say it is perfect; in general, the instrumental is amazing, Anitta's verse is really meh (but it works), Abel's voice makes a perfect work here, and the vibe AS A SINGLE is totally hard.
This was a super nice end for The Weeknd.
We have reached to the end of his run as "The Weeknd" on his After Hours till Dawn trilogy, so, as I expected, the end for his trilogy is really magic: This is arguably his best produced album, with a lot of interesting instrumentals (examples: Big Sleep, Reflections Laughing, Take Me Back to LA), using the best features of the R&B genre, mixing it with his mental health and the feeling of nostalgia, and making it a whole experience with ... read more
Most underrated album of his entire discography.
I really don't get the hate for this album; it is a decent project overall, with the problem of Kanye being really lazy to finish it. The production of most of the songs is really nice, with a sense of hope and spiritual connection, which I think is the main reason of the hate for the album, because of his entire discography and image being pure hip-hop.
The lyrics are sometimes really nice and sometimes really weak (like on Closed on ... read more
Her second best project without a doubt (for me).
This albums is a great definition of a perfect "first half of the album": It doesn't miss at all, with a production taken to the next level (best production: "Bad Idea" beat switch), with a more "trap" and R&B type beats, which fits really well the "mental issues" concept that she wanted to use on the entire album; besides that, the fact the this is her best lyrical work, with a lot of surprising ... read more
This album is the most overrated of her discography in general, really; but don't get me wrong, it's a total vibe, however, I have to be critical.
I can understand that the album is really catchy, chill and has a solid production on most of the album: But that's all; her lyrics here are really weak in most of the songs, but it is saved by "pov", "safety net" and "off the table", which talks a lot about the poor consistency of the album; it has a lot ... read more
As much as I hate to glaze this much, this film is AMAZING.
The story, the message, and overall, the perfect music selection for the clips, those are the best part of this film; It has such a personal way to make the concept a real experience.
... Yeah, a Nickelodeon ass song, literally.
Nothing much to say about the song, sounds lowkey great, but that's all, it's an attempt to make a song for younger listeners, so you can expect cringe lyrics of loving everything and being happy; despite that, for being her first song (and not really her song, she is just the singer), it's a nice start-up, not much to offer, but still a nice show of her younger voice and "style".
Hated as hell for almost no reason.
The production of the song is simple and really great, with that 80's funk style, a catchy trumpet, and specially a mix of contemporary R&B and Pop for the pre-chorus moments. The lyrics are really catchy and cool, nothing impressive, but still, really enjoyable; her voice mixing sounds just a little unfinished, I feel like she could had been incorporated in another way that doesn't makes her sound like an intentional copy of Britney Spears. Of ... read more
Unpopular opinion here: This song is just decent.
Brandy & Monica doesn't make much here but ruin the song. Their parts feel random and weak, in comparison with her great potential, besides, their voices are totally out of character, like they are extremely forced to be in the song, and mix that with a poor mixing, and you have a wasted collab.
Iconic, a "classic", and definitely a banger, BUT: It isn't a great song honestly.
I mean, the beat is classic, and the chorus is catchy and great, but if we compare this song to most her discography, this song is weak as fuck: The lyrics are really generic and "bitchy", which isn't a bad thing, but this style doesn't fit her AT ALL; besides, the lyrics aren't really interesting or new, they are just that, "rich" lyrics. Although the rap part is ... read more
This song is the third best of the album lowkey, it's really underappreciated for valid reasons, but still, underappreciated.
The song has a really simple beat, that makes her voice mostly carry the song, and in a very good way; her voice complements the deep, soft sound of the song, but getting more and more intense and melodic, that it finishes with one of the best moments on her discography (minute 2:30), with an entire orchestra with the instrumental, it's crazy as FUCK.
The song ... read more
One of my favorite 2020's track.
The instrumental carries the song a lot lol, but don't get me bad, their performance is great as well, with an amazing chorus by Lady Gaga, and a perfect combination of the production with Ari's voice!
The old-fashioned pop sound of the song is perfect, with a mix of 90's pop and French House! Maybe my only problem with the song is that the production could have been even better: In the final minute, I feel that the explosion of the song ... read more
I'm not much into live albums, so I didn't enjoy the album THAT much, but I will analyze it as it is.
Her vocals are really great in live, even more than in the studio, and if we mix that with a lot of great back instrumental, we have a unique experience here, it really feels like we are in the concert. Besides that, the album is just a compilation of her greatest songs, so it doesn't add a lot to her discography.
The album is constantly using the best part of most of the songs, ... read more
The album was already great, but the songs selection for the live performance is AMAZING here.
Her voice sounds even better than in the studio; she sounds mature, yet so sweet, that it makes the experience both very real and special. Besides that, the instrumental of most of the songs is sometimes more acoustic (like "positions"), with a lot of interesting add-ons that complement the songs perfectly, (again, "positions", with an acapella beginning).
And just as if it ... read more
Um... Yeah... This was pretty weird to listen to.
Both Megan and Ariana feel like they are uncomfortable in the song, I don't know if it is intentional, they sound really out of character. Besides, Jimmy's chorus is horrible, and the lyrics of the three of them in general are extremely bad and are mostly nonsense and... Questionable verses (For example: "I'ma kiss everybody that I know").
The production is slightly catchy, and fits a bit the flow of Megan, but ... read more
