Getting sober and ridding himself of depression are topics that GO:OD AM touches upon, but rather than his past, the "show and prove" Miller is driven by his rebirth on an interesting and infectious LP that's also his strongest to date.
GO:OD AM may not be the project that earns him the most award acclaim, DJ spins or mainstream radio play, or whatever the hell constitutes "success," but it's the album that matters most.
GO:OD AM showcases maturity beyond Miller’s years, the result of which is a cohesive project that is as cohesive as it is profound.
Mac shows a maturity beyond his years, all while tackling the highs and lows that come with the life of fame and fortune in the music industry.
On major-label debut GO:OD AM, his third and best studio album, Miller grapples frankly with fame, addiction, recovery and the struggle to be a decent person over taut, melancholy production that channels both bleary inebriation and hard-fought optimism.
With GO:OD AM, he’s accomplished the dense, complex work that plays out with remarkable clarity.
From start to finish, this is his most refined and well put-together project.
Relying on his individuality yields his greatest results, but the album’s most passable moments too.
GO:OD AM proves that Miller is not just a guy on the sidelines: he’s more than capable of stepping on to the field.
At the end of the day Mac Miller is without a doubt capable of bringing more to the table than shallow, boring rap. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do much to prove that on “GO:OD AM.”
Mac Miller does not disappoint his flows are incredible, and most of the album is backed by great production. Perfect Circle God Speed stands out as a strong lyrical performance, while I especially enjoy Mac in his more laid-back mode on tracks like Brand Name and Two Matches, which features a great verse from Ab-Soul. That being said, Cut the Check with Chris Kerr is one of my favorites, bringing great energy and a solid feature. Overall, it’s a great and versatile album.

Another reposted review, and I’m actually dropping this review during the morning. Let’s fucking go! For the longest time, this album used to be my favorite Mac Miller album. Most of it comes from how catchy this record is. Compared to his last album, “GO:OD AM” fires on all cylinders. The energy that Mac Miller brings to the table is palpable. This was written around the time there were rumors that there was going to be ... read more
