Sleep Token once again divide pretty much everyone into very, VERY different groups, one of which find their music to be boring as shit, lacking in real soul, and messy, and the other one believing that the bottom of vessel's shoe smells better than the flowers growing in Elysium. Despite parting the sea of listeners like Moses, there are some who are caught relatively in the middle, and I'm somewhere in there too. I DO consider myself a sleep token fan, but every time I read a ... read more
Deathcore is doing pretty great in 2025, and this album is a huge part of that. The lyrical content being as horrific and explicit as it is, is a perfect match for the aggressive hammering of your eardrums that ensues throughout the whole thing. That's pretty standard for deathcore, it has to be said, but this album does it with a level of grand dramatism that pushes it further than being just another deathcore project, into being an essential modern metal experience that has such ... read more
The feeling of this album is very enclosed and claustrophobic at most points, packing in a lot of harsh noises and industrial essentials. REALLY good EP, it's hardcore to the bone with its raspy and raw vocals, hard hitting breakdowns, and fantastic riffs. It may not do much in terms of pushing the limits of genre or experimenting with anything new, but that's not to say it fails in any way. It's fast and super punchy, and honestly I don't have much to say apart from, if you like the genre, this is a must listen - because it's some of the best quality Hardcore Punk out there.
