Original Review: Although not as skillful as todays Kendrick, young Kendrick showed potential as a rapper and MC.
Original Score: 7/10

Let me get the negatives of this album out the way. One, some of the hooks on this album have aged poorly, especially on songs like No Makeup. Two, Kendrick's flow isn't always good. Most of the time, he doesn't sound confident in himself and has a hard time finding his own voice. With that being said, I started to become more appreciative of Section.80. It's obviously not Kendrick's best album, but what Kendrick did here is great and sounds like the blueprint for good kid, m.A.A.d city. Even as a young man, Kendrick talks about stories about abuse and abandonment that is done in a mature and respectful way. And of course, there is some banger tracks like Rigamortus and Ronald Reagan Era where Kendrick sounds hungry and destroys the production. Overall, while Section.80 isn't as focused or fleshed out, it's a great debut for Kendrick and shows a promising career for him.
