My new song "Dear God (Please Me)" is out
This is just a little song I made for fun. It's not connected to any project, but I hope ya'll enjoy it
Also, this will be the last thing I'll release on SoundCloud. Since I don't have paid membership, I only have limited space to upload songs, and there's no way I'm paying for a membership to upload mediocre songs. I'm sure for a lot of ya'll, it's not a big deal, but for the very small minority ... read more
My new mixtape "heaven is calling" is out now. This mixtape consists of songs I've been holding on to since releasing my "final" project under the ¿CJay? name. I've been wanting to release to release these songs for some time now, but I didn't really have the excuse to, until I finally said fuck it and when back to this name. I was originally going to release this project as my debut album, but I felt like it didn't represent me all, especially ... read more
My new EP is out now :)
These are just a couple of songs and demos that I've made just for fun. It was originally supposed to have a Westside Gunn esthetic, but I gave up halfway through 😅
However, this isn't the only project I'll be releasing. After my fall semester for university ends, I'll be releasing a new mixtape in a couple of weeks. For now, though, enjoy (or tear apart) this EP

Hey ya'll
It's been a while :)
Before I talk about the music, I thought it would only make sense to give a small life update and what I've been up to. To start, I've just started university, and I'm studying media production. To be honest, the first week was rough. Everything was so new to me, and honestly, I thought about dropping out right then and there. Thankfully, with the encouragement of my family, I'm easing into this new chapter in my life, and on the ... read more

LAST REVIEW
This may or may not come as a surprise, but yes. This will be my last review on AOTY, and I have a couple of reasons for this decision. One, I'm not as passionate about reviewing as I once was. Some of it is because I've written so many reviews, but a lot of it is because I started to get self-conscious about my writing. To me, I saw it as lazy and uninspired. A lot ... read more
I feel both confused and transcended
Low have been around for almost 3 decades now, and while their discography has been pretty good throughout those years, one problem they have always had is that most of their music, especially in their earlier years, sound the same. That's not to say that they don't attempt to change things up. After Secret Name, you can definitely hear the band trying to new things. While most of these change ups are really well executed, like Things We Lost in ... read more
Brief Review:
Christmas. The holiday where you feel more depressed than usual :D
About fucking time I reviewed a Christmas album, and what better Christmas album to review than Christmas by Low. Me personally, Christmas has always felt like a depression holiday, and I can never point out why. Maybe it's because I've always listened to so much sad and "cold" music on December, or maybe it's because the year is ending and I haven't gotten any better as a human ... read more
Didn't think I would actually find a "sleeper" album
So, for most of this week, I have been listening to lots and lots of Low. Why? I don't know. I just saw them a while ago and thought they were an interesting band, and since I didn't know what to listen to this week, and with me really wanting to check them out, I went ahead and listened to pretty much most of their discography. I started with I Could Live in Hope for obvious reasons, and oh my God, this album is ... read more
Talk about some fucking soul
Nina Simone is a name I'm all too familiar with, however I only have heard her used as samples here and there. I'm sure ya'll know what songs I'm talking about. While I did know she was an important figure in music, I never knew just how impactful she was and how that impact transcended music itself. Reading about her made me realize that she was way more important than I thought, with her not only changing music and certain genres, but also ... read more
Finally, some comfort music
Been a while since I reviewed an oldie. I don't know much about Joni Mitchell other than a lot of people who love her for not only her music but also as a person as well. Out of the "blue," I got interested in her music and decided to listen to her most praised album: Blue. Dawg, I'm fucking speechless. This is by far one of the prettiest folk albums out there, which isn't saying much since I haven't listened to a ton of folk albums, ... read more
Why am I doing this to myself?
While I wasn't trying to look for another album to put me in my feels, I'm not mad with this at all. Songs About Leaving is an album that I've been meaning to check out for a while now. Hell, I even had the album cover saved on my phone so I can remember it. Even the title itself already intrigued me. Going into this, I knew nothing about this album or the band other than that this was their last album and that it's pretty damn sad, and yeah. ... read more
💥1000 FOLLOWERS SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!💥
I know this review is way overdue, 100+ followers later, in fact. But, we finally did it. 1000 fucking followers, man. I am pretty shocked that I made it this far. To be frank with ya'll, I'm speechless. I mean, I thought these types of accomplishments were reserved for people like UltimateLifeFrm or barcooper. You know, people who are very talented writers. But me? 1000 followers? How? Why do I deserve an accomplishment like this? That's ... read more
(TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE AND DEPRESSION)
About 5 months ago, I listened to and reviewed Deathconsciousness by Have a Nice Life, which I absolutely loved. From the atmosphere to the lyrics, everything about it was incredible, and I knew that after checking that album out, I had to go and listen to Giles Corey. It took longer than expected to finally sit down with this album, but we're here, and I have a lot to say about this album. But before that, I think it's important to give ... read more
Brief Review:
While it is sad that The Thief Next to Jesus is Ka's last album, I think it's honestly a pretty beautiful send-off to not only his rap career but his life and what he stood for. While Honor Killed the Samurai felt more dark and bleak lyrically and sonically, The Thief Next to Jesus feels a lot uplifting. There's still some dark themes and such, but there's also moments where it's honestly just encouraging. The production is amazing. I absolutely love ... read more
Rest in peace to Ka, man
I really hate myself for not listening to Ka sooner before his death. I know why I didn't listen to him earlier, but man, does it suck that it was his death that brought me to listen to his discography. I'm not going to cry about all day, though, since I'd much rather remember Ka for his art than his death, something I think Ka would've appreciated. For the past few days, I have been listening to Ka and his albums, and man. Everything about what he ... read more
Thank you, @UltimateLifeFrm, for the recommendation :)
Brief Review:
Shit got me feeling all fuzzy inside
Well, it's psychedelic alright. I honestly don't know how to describe Crown of Fuzzy Groove without sounding like I'm on acid, other than to say that this album makes you feel like you're on acid. It is a very trippy album experience, but also a fun and relaxing one. A lot of the album's production is pretty minimal, not really having any huge or crazy moments, ... read more
I was just about to review the new Father John Misty album, but FUCK THAT
We're getting spooky in this bitch 🖕🖕🖕
Who else is a part of the goon squad?
Even after almost a decade of making music, Deftones are still coming through with some pretty great bangers and still have that great energy I love to hear. While none of their other albums have reached the same level of peak as White Pony, the one album I can confidently say closely reaches that level has to be Koi No Yokan. Fuck it, I'd go as far as to say it's just as good as White Pony. It takes everything that was so good about White Pony ... read more
Don't worry. I'm looking respectfully 😎
For an album that was released just 3 years before White Pony, Around the Fur is very different. Unlike White Pony, which had more shoegaze elements and atmosphere building, Around the Fur is just unfiltered and raw alt-metal, rarely having any moments where the album slows down. You still have your melodic moments, mostly because of Chino's vocals, but for the most part, Around the Fur is just raw and aggressive alt-metal. And you ... read more
