Easily my favorite out of their discography. While it's not as influential as their debut or as well-produced as '75, what makes Neu! 2 stand out to me is its sheer quirkiness. Three of the eleven songs here are just altered versions of songs that are on the same album, and given their placement in the tracklist, you haven't even heard the original versions yet. It's silly decisions like these that give albums so much personality and make them really fun to listen to ... read more
Really good performance by the ol' duo, although any version of Dronevil sounds great because, y'know, it's Dronevil. Red and The Evilone Which Sobs are especially great on here. However, part of me left expecting much more than what was on here. It could be because of the recording quality, but I didn't hear much of Merzbow on here, even less than on Rock Dream.
Still, it was a really good show and if you really like Boris, you will enjoy it, but calling it a Boris with ... read more
I think I might be one of 6 people that have listened to the whole thing.
I don't really have anything to say, other than it is what you expect. There are a ton of pieces here that are just silence, which I expected, all of these pieces were generated using PixelCNN so of course it's gonna have some funny parts like these. Anyways, here are some pieces I found noteworthy. Every silent or almost silent piece is on there:

I see what this album is trying to do, and I love a lot of the instrumentation and complexity in some tracks. But that doesn't change the fact that I found it very uninteresting overall. Not saying that you NEED to have vocals on every song, but if you do make an all-instrumental album, at least add some variety to each song so there's always something new to look forward to. This album lacks variety, making a full listen of it more uninteresting with each song that passes by. Pretty ... read more
"Yo babe, put on that new Insect Repellent album."
I find the concept of music designed for pest control so funny for some reason. The fact that there is a chance that someone is able to make a living on making albums where humans aren't the target audience is just hilarious.
I found this album from a friend who somehow got this album recommended via Spotify. He had no idea why that was today's pick or why he was today's victim, but it happened. The album is ... read more
personally, i agree with the title. i will never listen to any concept as stupid as The 365 Project ever again
it's been funny tho
I'm friends with rape victims. If you would give this album to me back in 2020-2021, I would tell you that it is a dark and disturbing album that represents the trauma of SA perfectly. Now, I understand that saying this to a fetish album is the same as making fun of my friends because they got raped. Glad that others see the same.
Also, it didn't help that the end of the album made it seem like a huge joke. Sexual Assault is a real thing that affects hundreds of victims negatively ... read more
Boris is a band that definitely peaks in live peformances. With the insanely impressive 2 hour long experience of Rock Dream and equally as amazing performance of Flood, their sound is absolutely put to new highs with these live shows.
This performance of Feedbacker, which was unofficially recorded back in 2004, is also pretty great, but due to it being a bootleg, it suffers from it sounding too thin and muddy at Part 3 and 4, while also just being extremely loud. I love loud music, don't ... read more
one of my friends made this album and while i didn't listen to every album he made, there's definitely a huge improvement on this and his debut, which was an album that i found flawed, but showcased a ton of potential in lyricism. my biggest critique however, was the passionless performance by him
this is a concept album telling the story of a man in distrust who constantly thinks about different moments of his life, and tries to cope with it with addiction. this causes him to ... read more
decided to attempt something else with my reviews: instead of an entire paragraph summarizing the album and my thoughts on it, now i'm making notes on every track and what i think of it. i think this will make my thoughts on albums much more clearer and helps me discuss them with others (btw im only doing it on stuff i feel interested enough to do it)

Thank you, Jaso.
I already loved the original version of The Red Orb. I originally found it on a random, obscure playlist on Spotify (to be exact, it was the song MISS ME WIV IT! (ain't me)), and I immediately fell in love with it. The abstract nature of that song reminded me a lot of the works from Slauson Malone and the group he was formerly in, Standing On The Corner. With A Quiet Farwell, 2016-2018 already being one of my favorite albums of all time, it wasn't a surprise that I ... read more

Your music was good dude, I miss the old Momenat

Update: after a respectful conversation that didn't include a death threat, I have to correct my score. Momenat did not become a sellout and he is the greatest artist to ever exist in our modern time.

had to deduct 1 point because every time i listen to beach life in death i can only think of this version
fuck you
lots of pretty mediocre freeform hardcore tracks here, but it gets some nostalgia points for me because i used to listen to this album a lot back when i didnt know what aoty was and back when i unironically listened to Acidgvrl lol
duhtekk is still a slammer though
this is just your standard, run-of-the-mill, windmill scene EP. seriously.
if you have listened to the first track, you will immediately know what the rest will sound like. in general i am starting to get really tired of the windmill scene, since all they do is try to rip off each other, left, right, and center. if you like the sound of it, you will like this. and i do too, but please do something with that sound that makes you stand out.
be like black midi, where they become really brutal ... read more
