Pomme is one of the only French singers I listen to (and I'm french), I remember listening to this album on repeat when I was 14.

I discovered this song in high school, when a friend advised me to listen to Smother if I wanted sad songs. Since then this album has been one of the best albums to listen to when I'm sad.

I bought this record mainly to listen to Night Shift, and even though I had listened to the other songs, I didn't pay attention to them. But when I re-listened to it on record and looking at the lyrics, I found myself crying over and over relating to so many songs.

Ethel Cain brought a dark but strong aspect for her debut album. She explores her relationships with people, religion and herself in this deep-rooted Americana.
She goes through hell with daddy and mommy issues, religion trauma, murder and cannibalism, but also through forgiveness.
