This album is a hidden gem, emphasis on the "hidden" and "gem".
I am blown away by this. I only checked this thing out cuz the cover was really good, but was greeted with once of the greatest prog-jazz-rock-funk fusions I've ever heard. The music here is so intricate, fun, and experimental in its instruments that it not only never leaves you bored through it's hour+ run time, but constantly excited for what's gonna pop up next. It's mostly high-energy, but there are mellow moments like on tracks 8 and 9 that are still as good as the rest. I can't understate how incredible the sax and bass are on this album. The bass less so, yes, but both instruments are phenomenal. In a way, this reminds me of the Mr. Bungle debut despite it not being anything like this project.
Creative, consistent, crazy, and even occasionally catchy, there's very little to complain about in this album.
