Keno Kaizo - Headshots

Instrumental is excellent but the hook I’m not crazy about. Delivery is good.

Oreox4 - CRACKHEAD ERA
55

CRACKHEAD BANKROLL | Cool sounding 90 second track I guess. Not super memorable
DAMNIMHIM | Hook is a little mediocre, production is intriguing enough
BATMAN | Beat is really good love the sound design but vocals are underwhelming and don't really compliment the instrumentation, needed more energy
LOSETHEPAST | Easily my favorite here, reminds me of Porter Robinson with some glitchier vocals. Decent outro

EASTWEST - part of your picture

Beats and mixing are fantastic while the vocals and flows are… not. Big mismatch and I think Torrance still has a long way to go in technical ability but the production is pretty great throughout.

StoneZey - SAVE

this song can die

Rockatoxx - eden's relapse!

Production is great throughout and Rockatoxx's rapping ability is a lot less rickety and clumsy than ever before. The dark bass-heavy instrumentation in the second half is nice and Rockatoxx's delivery is pretty convincing and passionate. Hope to see her improve even more going forward.

Aries - BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU
50

One-dimensional pop trap that is hard to remember. Despite the production being as good as it needs to be, Aries has no personality at all and is vocally identical on nearly every song here. Given the genre BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU is in there are of course some highlights but the boredom in the second half particularly is just too much.

DC THE DON - My Own Worst Enemy
75

While not quite as good as CAYA due to DC not always playing to his strengths, MOW3 is still an impressive body of work. With 22 entire songs, he manages to maintain a lot of energy throughout the tracklist and his ability to operate in different styles is apparent. DC is at his best when he’s in his pop-punk trap lane, showing his slightly cartoonish but charismatic tone, stunning singing, and quality songwriting, however he spends a lot of MOW3 sticking to his hard rap roots which he is ... read more

Juice WRLD - Death Race For Love

This is actually pretty good in retrospect. If tracks 15 - 22 were all scrapped (other than 10 Feet which is the best song on the record), I could see this being upwards of an 8.

Favorites: 10 Feet, Desire, Maze, Hear Me Calling, Who Shot Cupid?, Syphilis
Least Favorite: Robbery

Lil Ceasers - Reverence
30

You know I actually really enjoy about all production on this. Even though it contains a couple dime-a dozen mathiastyner type beats they still go somewhat hard. The opener standstill has a very nice atmosphere free of distraction after my verse, October's Fright with its banging beat has one part that is actually great with aggressive doubles. Still as with any lil ceasers record, most of the content on this album lyrically, topically, and vocally is in dire need of improvement. This is still ... read more

Token - Pink Is Better
60

Token is a very solid rapper when he wants to be but on a lot of Pink Is Better he's definitely not "giving it his all" on the flow / delivery side. Some stunning moments and the production is consistently above average, then some downright bad songs and several filler tracks. The album's narrative is pretty compelling but the way it's delivered could be more interesting.

Favorites: Not Love, Be Happy, IOD (feat. Lil Skies & YKD Jah)

Least Favorite: ROUND OF APPLAUSE

Gunna - DS4EVER

This is essentially an album by Gunna.

Favorites: thought i was playing (feat. 21 Savage), die alone (feat. Chris Brown & Yung Bleu), too easy (Remix) [feat. Future & Roddy Ricch]

Least Favorite: pushin P (feat. Future & Young Thug)

The Weeknd - Dawn FM
85

The Weeknd drops a great album, simply put. Continuing down the genre lane Abel took with Dawn FM's lead single Take My Breath, this album has more synthpop / 80s inspired material alongside some typical The Weeknd and it makes for a near-flawlessly produced album containing some of the most blissful tracks he has ever put out. It's not as incredible, thematic, or revolutionary to his sound as After Hours was, but Dawn FM is still a high gloss listen throughout. Unfortunately, the weakest point ... read more

Kole Xidas - LIMBA (SIDE B)
50

LIMBA (SIDE B) has great production choices that are un-complimented by subpar rapping and one note songwriting. Glex's delivery has conviction but sometimes sounds forced, especially on A Glimpse of the Sunrise on Water's Edge. The song titles are unnecessarily long for tracks that are not that profound. I appreciate the emotional vulnerability but the EP just feels like depressive or anxious thoughts thrown onto a canvas without much artistic vision. Glex's flows are offbeat a lot of the time ... read more

DC THE DON - Come As You Are
85

New review including deluxe songs:
This became one of my favorite albums from 2020 holy. The amount of replayability this thing has is outrageous. Come As You Are is basically peak melodic / aggressive trap music with a lot of stylistic versatility while still staying true to the genre, and DC The Don has an ENOURMOUS vocal range, just listen to Ball Player. DC's melodies are similar most of the time and the first half is weaker than the second (still good though), but other than that this ... read more

This is the worst song I have ever heard.

Kanye West - Donda
80

Donda is a beautiful mess, in short. Kanye West's flourishing creativity is present as it is on every project of his, grandiose production, it's all here. The narrative of the album is interesting for sure. Fivio Foreign's verse on Off The Grid has one of the best beat's I have heard this year, those sliding 808s are insane. Hurricane starts off with The Weeknd over a very less is more style of instrumentation, bringing a heavy vibe, followed by a Lil Baby verse that completes a fantastic song. ... read more

Conway the Machine - From King to a GOD
70

Conway the Machine's bars never falter. There are too many quotables on this album, some amazing beats too. Conway's flow is... alright, and doesn't change all that much, but it is fine. Delivery is solid. Some of the songs are underwhelming, and some of the mixing is weak. The singing is absolutely awful, thankfully it only appears rarely. Overall a fairly good album with enough highlights.

Drake - Certified Lover Boy

Honestly don't get the excessive hate. I got a lot of great songs from this. The features are generally fine, production is mostly decent, bars are weak, sure. My personal favorites are "I was on your ass like a back pocket" on Pipe Down, and "chopper hit him and he turned into a booty clapper" from 21 savage on Knife Talk. The first leg of this album is bad and not noteworthy; the songs are pretty boring and sleep-inducing, but the second half really picks up. N 2 Deep has ... read more
