I Love You, I'm Trying is grandson's second album (and currently his most recent release) and it has already become my most favourite album. Death of an Optimist has come to be one of my all-time most favourite albums and showed what potential grandson showed. The impactful lyrics and the energetic instrumentals (such as We Did It!!!) in some songs contrast with the slower-pacing and calmer feeling in others (such as Death of an Optimist // Intro). This album can be very hit or miss to some due to the 'edgy' lyrics and I do agree that sometimes the lyrics can degrade the song they are featured in - with a good example being Riptide. ... read more
