Not a country rock fan so my expectation was low, but I'm actually enjoying parts of it.
Coming from someone who isn't a country fan, this is an absolutely outstanding album—one of the best I've ever heard in the genre.
As someone who isn't a jazz aficionado, I found it difficult to appreciate the nuances here; the tracks tended to blend together for me.
Maybe I'm holding a 1950s record to the wrong standard, but frankly, it's a bit of a bore. It has the distinct feel of generic café background music.
The album failed to resonate with me. It suffers from some overly repetitive passages, and the vocal production feels submerged, frequently getting lost beneath the instrumentation.
A warm and soothing album with a genuinely therapeutic quality.
I love the instrumentation, but the screaming/growling vocals just aren't for me.
